My bad, I didn't mean to imply that it is an easy job. In fact I think being able to call and organise a team while still playing a good personal game is extremely difficult. Just meant that in my experience, having a main caller often fails if he is too nice (or too much of a pussy ) to shout over people and tell them to be quiet for a minute. Having four people call that there is a pyro on the right isn't exactly very important when the caller is trying to organise a push (just an example).

even harder with 9 people compared to 6 Also, with Rainbow, I did call, and I was always shouting.. but excitedly.. I was always sooooo tired after playing (and top fragging pretty much every time!)

I'm thinkin that Chaos should be leader, he's loud and he doesn't care if people hate him Also, he seems to know what he is talking about. P.S He's got a distictive voice so I know it's him talking too, which is nice.

Chaos for leader. I think he should play soldier, he is the best solly we have and I think as soldier you are more in the action and you can react faster on enemy movements. Like I said I won't be around for some time.
Good luck, I don't know how fast I can get a new internet connection and you all know that it can be a real pain in the ass.

Hate to be a party pooper but there are a few more points where I felt we failed (to some extent quite miserably).
To some extent this is clearly the lack of experience as a group, Ringel is absolutely right about that. But there were also some unnecessary mistakes (like a WDG soldier being able to flank us unnoticed while we defended the 2nd CP on Granary). To some degree I even missed some of the gut instincts one follows on a good pub game.
A caller will certainly help a lot. This must be accompanied by the discipline of the rest to listen and to properly prioritize which info they should offer themselves.
Discussing a few more strategies might be in order as well, as boring as that usually is. We need a bit more coordination. "Push the cart" simply doesn't cut it, you must consider to create diversions or stage a two-pronged attack. To some degree a caller can do this, but beyond that that's need awareness and common sense. If 4 teammates head into the tunnel on Badwater it might be advisable to take a different route, or if 5 people attack CP3 on Granary from the left perhaps it's a good idea to have 2 others take the right route.
And one a personal note: The point I was close to ragequit was when I was setting up my buildings on Badwater in the mine-exit and Ams strolled up to me and calmly sapped (and destroyed) my sentry while I was completely alone. Something like that can make all the difference in such a match.

(like a WDG soldier being able to flank us unnoticed while we defended the 2nd CP on Granary) Yeaaaahhhhhhhhhhh Also...you say that - but there were also lots of other opportunities where I tried to flank you - killed cruelcow or a sniper - and then met a quick death as everyone turned around and killed me - obviously as a result of comms.

The thing is, if the team is doing well you don't notice things, but if it goes wrong you find out and get irriated. You have a bear in mind that a lot of things we were doing well were completely unnoticed.

Just to show what a complete masochist I am may I suggest to repeat the whole ordeal on next Sunday. Same maps, not necessarily the same people, hopefully some different results.
Meanwhile we T-Regs should stick our heads together and see what we can do better.

I've got a feeling I'll be writing up some rough guides on how we'll deal with each map and take apart sentry positions and class combos - I feel I let the team down not organising pushes more on Dustbowl and Badwater as the medic there. I can't comment on Granary; I barely watched the match and really was only listening.
Can one of our leaders post about a new practice game tonight? I would love to play on Wednesday at least against a TF2 lobby group AFTER we have gone through some of the maps we need to play a bit more.

Do I see correctly that we haven't submitted the results yet? I too don't have scoreboards for Dustbowl and Badwater (Note to self: Better get used to do those manually)
