Why are people so upset when a bad thing happens to an animal they don't even know.
If I would be the owner of the cat I would be very pissed, but this is just ridiculous.

It's a fairly nasty thing to do, but the news coverage of it is a bit OTT. Just let the RSPCA give the woman a stern talking to and leave it be I say.

My missus asked me if I had seen this news report this morning, I stated "nope".

She showed me a copy of the Sun, which is lets be honest a fuckwit rag, anyways. The story is about as important as, someone stepping in pile of dog shit on a London street. The Media coverage of this is pathetic. Some old nag puts a cat in the bin, some bloke records it and puts it on the web, the amount of hits it received got the media attention, which then pushed the story to a national level in the UK.

To me the important story there is not the cat, but how a social networking site, can drive news reporting in the UK to such an extent. The web has indeed grown in the last 15 years and lets be honest if Peter and Jordan had been doing something their publicist wanted reporting this really wouldnt be front page news.

woman will get fined, RSPCA will tell her off, she feels like a complete arse end of story. Now if it had been woman beats cat to death with brick and dumps dead cat in wheelie bin, it would be news worthy, possibly not on a national scale but a local even. The Web, driving the media has changed that.

I dont condone what this idiot did to the cat, no matter how annoying cats can be sometimes (my neighbours cat shits in my garden but id never wheely bin it).
I agree that the news coverage is ott, given that soldiers are being killed overseas and several million people are starving and homeless around the world. This ott coverage is why i dont buy newspapers, sensationalist and biased news reporting (almost like fox news in usa).
For the 4chan website to post her address just encourages more idiocy from people to take things further.
I do agree that this was an amazingly cruel act, but not front page news. Cruelty to anything makes my blood boil and i wish people had that little voice saying "i wonder if id like that to happen to me"

i totally agree with most people here, its not that bad, there was no death.. o.O although cruelty is certainly... cruel.

i watched from my bedroom window 3 guys kick and punch a guy to the ground and stamp on his head.. it was like watching UFC right from my window.. now in that moment i could never have imagined getting my phone out and recording it.. then going to phone the media.. who the hell does that? First its ..shout obscene names at them, put ur shoes and jacket on then go an' see to wtf went on
