i dont mind, he seems to have fixed the major issues he caused pretty quick, altho leaves are actually still broken and its gutting that he hasnt fixed lighting, turns out the ray trace depth problem affects the ocean too, so yeah zero we can do about it

We are beta testers. The £10 we put forward was a "pre order" for the final game. Yes patch bugs are annoying, but this isn't Valve where a team of testers are on hand.  Speaking of which, anyone remember the apparent TF2 Beta that was supposed to be released back in September? |

I still think that Minecraft's adherence to the "release early, release often" mechanic is a Good Thing™.
Developing (in general, but especially a game) often isn't easy, even though notch makes it sound like he's being lazy, alpha-grade software induces major headaches planning-wise. For my last project, actually coding it took a fraction of the time thinking about how to best do it (and lo and behold, that paid off by everything coming magically together apart from some really minute stuff...).

That's where you're wrong. Everything is turned on, I found out the hard way when CV came and slaughtered me in cold blood. |
