I use the 377 and would highly recommend it. It's sturdy and comfortable and has great sound quality. I can't answer for the mic quality since I don't of anyone else who uses one, but you can judge by how my mic usually sounds in-game/over mumble. It's pretty cheap as well: AmazonOverclockersDodgy, was it you that was criticising me for echo yesterday? Because, if so, we've got the same headset you bastard!

Seriously? How the hell loud do you have your volume? If I remove my headset from my head while listening to music the sound is barely audible, even if the headset is sitting around my neck. And as far as I know, no one has ever had trouble with echoes from me. It probably doesn't help that you use voice activation. Edit: I just tried using voice activation on mumble while listening to Nine Inch Nails at full volume and it wasn't transmitting, I don't think the headset is the problem mate.

I've only asked Ambrose to adjust his mic volume a couple of times, after which I've never had an trouble with noise / echo when he speaks. TBH, mode is also reasonably clear to me but we've not been on the same side / server that often lately (that mix we were in was fine though Tom).

The mic has noise cancellation and it also should be able to prevent echos by removing whatever is coming out of the speakers/headphones and only transmitting what is left. Pretty standard features nowadays, though you might have to activate them in the sound controls.
We'll see how Nadine'll sound when the thingy gets here.

Basically they ear bits are closed around your ear instead of just flat across them, some people find the flat (open eared) ones more comfortable and they leave you more aware of whats going on in the room. Closed ear ones put you in your own little world because you can't hear anything except whats coming through them

I had that headset Cheez, the only problems I had were that the mic jack is really sensitive and the slightest wrong positioning makes it disconnect and that the speakers are a bit crackly sometimes.

My ears stick out too much for closed ear headsets. I look like the FA cup with handle extensions

Well.. the headset arrived today and it says "closed-ear gaming headset".. okay with me. Unfortunately I can't tell you if it is good as I just can't open the plastic boxing.. it is glued and the plastic is very hard ... I will find a way...
