We run SimpleMachines Forum (http://www.simplemachines.org/), and I think it was a good bit of work (done before I came here though), sorting out all the plugins and the css proper.

Still probably easier than rolling a full-fledged Typo3 or something. Smiley

Yes, the site uses SMF 1.1 and TinyPortal. There are a host of SMF addons too, allowing various small features on the forum. "Stylized design" skin added too (various available).
