Word up minions,

my 21st bday is coming up and family memebers are pressuring me for what I want. Among a few other things, there are 2 computer related things I want but not really sure what exactly to ask for, so without furthur, I call for your assistance, geeks of Europe:

1) New Headset - Since the mic on one of my headsets has broken, and the others audio jack has broken, I have been using 2 headsets: 1 for audio, other around my neck with the mic pointing upwards. So looking for a pretty decent gaming headset with mic. Nothing too extortionate price wise but still of good quality.

2) New Motherboard - I really have no idea on this as I'm not great on hardware knowledge. In another desperate attempt to fix my piece of shit PC, I'm fairly confident it's my motherboard that's causing the issues so looking for a new one, however I have no idea how much a good one would normally cost, nor what a good one is :3

Might also ask chaos for that watercooling kit of his....unless that turns out to be another con Angry....Tongue

I take it you have an Intel Core 2 Processor, I'd recommend a P45 board from Gigabyte or Asus.

Processor is apparently a "Q9450" which I know is quad core. Probably intel, who knows, ask chaos. And Tommy, MW2 is also on the list, dont worry Wink

I can probably get both babe, 21st bday makes distance family memebers quite generous apparently. Found out my uncle, who I dont speak to very often and is generally a bit of a douche says he's spending £50 on me and just wnats to know what I want :O

Obviously mobo is more important but I'd like a new headset as well if possible.

and cruel, never bought a proper headset in my life :3 used to use a skype headset that cost me like £5, the 2 headsets I have now were given to me by chaos, so I dunno of general price range for a decent headset

I'd recommend these, got a set a while back, nice and comfortable and pretty sturdy as well. Don't let the low price put you off, they're much better than my last pair (Creative Fatal1ty) which was twice as expensive.

Motherboard: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/160933 As long as you don't require RAID this should do everything you need.  Also has ultra quick internet access.  (about 10 secs with mine)

Plantronics & Sennheiser are pretty good headsets.
The Sennheiser PC161 is awesome.

The only objection I had about it was that I didn't realize that I still wore it after a while and when I tried to walk away from my pc it nearly strangled me.

I've got that Plantronics headset and the sound tends to crackle a lot on very bassy sounds like gunfire in games and the mic connection is very dodgy so it doesn't work half the time.

atm I has a creative fatal1ty (no mic) and a plantronics (no audio). Really liked the creative one as a headset, find the plantronics kind of uncomfortable and as Valentine said, crackles at times. May just get another fatal1ty, or what dodgy suggested. I-unno.

And milli, when you say RAID are you refering to me hdd? cos they're RAID-ed atm :3
