Today was a little odd. I spent a what felt like a lot of my working day stood in an outlet of a certain high street brand of Ladies fashion. Arrived on site and played the game of "Hunt the part". It would appear that City Link got them self's confused and sent the part to the wrong distribution center. That won't get sorted out till Tuesday now. So I apologized to the manageress and toddled off. Some hours later I was sent back as another part had been found and was being sent out by another courier. This was then delayed. And then delayed a little bit more. And then some more. Your getting the picture.

In the mean time I am being mistaken for a member of staff. Eventually it become easier just to play along Smiley

Eventually the part arrived. And 7 minuets later the job was done.

There are worse ways to earn a living.

YAY! A day off work!

An odd way to start the day. Went to bed at a sensible time in all honesty. So tired that I couldn't read more than a page or two, before it finally dawned on me that I had been staring off into space through the book. The good thing about paperback books is they don't hurt when they hit you on the end of the nose. So with the land of nod demanding my presence, it was off with the lights and shut eye time.

So that made waking up in a blind panic at 2:00am even more surprising. No idea why. Just some very pressing urge to be awake. That evil sensation of being late for something very important. So as more of my mind woke up to try and figure out what was going on, I found myself making breakfast wondering what was wrong with the afternoon light. Only to eventually realize it was just a very bright moon. Glad I woke up properly. I was moments away from putting buttered bread into the toaster. Kind of got the sequence wrong with that one. Waste not want not. So there I was eating bread & butter staring out the kitchen window at the moon at 2:00am trying to reassure myself that I'm not crazy.

So you think I'd be able to have a lie in? Nope. Obviously my sub-conscious mind was more troubled than normal. My dream state can be a little weird at the best of times. I was in some sort of village. I had found a severed human hand. A right one. I knew it was important. Just didn't know why. I picked it up. It was still warm. But there was no blood. I found a doctors. The receptionist shouted at me. The hand was important. What was I doing wasting time? Get to A&E with it immediately. Cradling the hand in my hand. Trying to keep it warm, I ran randomly around until an hospital appeared. For some odd reason I needed both my hands to open the doors. And for some odd reason I didn't want to put the hand on the floor. I think it was my father's hand? Some what larger than my own, as i would imagine a child's hand would seem to a child in comparison to an adult's. But all I found myself doing was putting the stump of the wrist in my mouth, so that i could push open the double doors to A&E. A truly horrifying moment of realization of what I had just done. Especially as what felt like one of the flesh covered wrist bones then came away and rolled over my tongue. Even the memory of that part of the dream is making me gag (I wonder is having ribs for dinner is to blame?). But rather than let me wake up, the dream dissolved and changed. I was now a kid again. There was a press of lots of other children. It was home time? But it felt panicked. An adult mind in a child's body, I found myself staring around in incomprehension as to why it was so disorganized. After all, what was the panic / danger? A girl grabbed hold of my arm. For some odd reason it was imperative that I follow her. She took me to what felt like a medieval court yard. It had a feeling similar to an old inn in Gloucester city center. All balconies and over hanging roofs. Up on one of these balconies was a crude box / cage containing a gigantic scorpion. It told me it was a mother and had to be released. All the while it's claws slashed through the gaps in the crate. Stranger still. Once released I knew it needed to have a PCI network card fitted into it's back. No idea how I knew that. No way in hell was I to release the scorpion in the first place. But the girl opened the box and placed the scorpion on the ground. The terror of realizing that this thing was now free froze me to the spot. But out of nowhere, a dark haired man in glasses reached down and picked up the now scorpion toy, and fitted the PCI card into it's back. He gave me an odd smile as if to convey an incomprehension as to what was so difficult? And why had I not done this myself?

I had just about had enough of this crap. I forced myself awake. So much for my lie in.

So I was up early on a Sunday. TV provided a good distraction and reprieve from the turmoil of my mind. Eventually I managed to get myself into gear and tackled all the domestic chores that needed doing. Spurred on, I even went shopping for smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms. Argos was my friend for this. And thanks to a copious amount of nectar points, I had £20 off. Back home via Focus. They're closing down. Everything must go. So feeling like a vulture picking the carcase clean, I went in a took a look. There are many deals to be had. Anywhere between 30% to 70% off all sorts of things. But I resisted the urge to spend money on a bargain for no other reason than it was a bargain. So back home. A bit of drilling and screwing, and I now have a smoke alarm in the attic. On near the front door. And a carbon monoxide alarm on the landing. If I needed to feel any safer in my home, then I've no idea what I need to do.

I think it's time to relax and unwind a bit.

Apologies if my dream has made you feel queeze. I'm quite surprised that I can still remember it so vividly this many hours later.

Today was a slow day. Cos of the rain, the restaurant was absolutely dead for the most part (though that didn't stop a couple coming in 10 minutes before closing and staying for over 30 minutes after close drinking their way through a bottle of wine)

Interesting things from today, had a lady complain cos apparently the other day, she was told off by one of the managers for changing her baby's diaper ON THE FUCKING TABLE! I had to smile and pretend I felt bad for her, but inside I was thinking "Jesus christ, the fuck is wrong with you?" Heard more about it since, turns out this woman literally slapped her baby on the table after it shit its pants and started changing it right there to the horror of other customers (the sight and smell were something horrific apparently). just to stress, we have baby changing facilities, and she was sat like 10m from them, but she went for it anyway. Naturally, our manager went over and told her to stop.
I tried to sympathise with her in what way I could, figuring that maybe the changing room was busy with a queue, untill she told me that she just didn't like going in there cos it was a bit cold. just a "Bitch, you serious?!" moment

Other than that, nothing special tonight, the usual shit of people telling you how great the service has been, and what a wonderful evening they've had, then not leaving a fucking penny, even when their bill is over £100 etc (had one table stay for over 3 hours, and again, not a penny) *le sigh* c'est la vie.
2 days off now though Cheesy

EDIT: also, I realised at the end of my shift, I had a sock hanging out the back of my shorts the entire time. Not entirely sure how it got there, but there you go.

Will begin my trip to England tonight (urgh nightlong busdrive through France and by ferry). Also Ive mixed up the places (for those Ive told em on mumble before), its not Bristol Ill be at but Brighton and then only for like 1 1/2 out of the 5 1/2 days since were gonna make a trip around the whole southcoast of england (Lizard Point being the farthest point of interest), so probably gonna be difficult to meet up with any of you since the schedule is pretty tight Tongue But Im still very excited, never been to England and it was always a wish of mine to go there atleast once.

Will be back sunday night  Cool
