Yeah, EA, um, they're pretty much all marketing. Not that they don't fund some good games, but this was very poorly done, and one reason I'm holding off is to try and find a pack with (or even without DLC) which is cheaper just to spite them, heh (and I have other things to play just now, I'm a savvy gamer  ) |

This is turning out to be an awesome game, maybe the best RPG I've ever played. For maximum immersion don't go with the human noble fighter, the plot is a bit too stereotypical of every other RPG ever made, if very well told.
The DLC stuff is starting to piss me off though, you can't open your Journal without a big DLC content part flashing up at you. Still not a reason not to buy the game though.

I need to reinstall this (the DLC buggered up when I moved my documents folder), but have been playing it and it was rather fun. Funnily enough I reinstalled Baldur's Gate (with fixes, widescreen patch, running in the BG2 engine) and have been playing a lot more of that though! oops!  (highly recommended - back when a +1 weapon and 1 damage meant something! playing with pre-buffed mages without dispell magic (next level!) hurts though, so off for now...I'll write up a quick guide in another thread methinks for this  ) |

Playing a sorcerer in Neverwinter Nights still ranks as one of my most satisfying gaming experiences ever. I'm usually a tank type guy (when I'm not a healer), so trying out a class which starts out so fragile and gradually turning into a powerhouse (having two friends as meatshields vital members of the team helped) was great.
Anyway, back on topic. The moment this dips below £15 I'm snapping it up.

Try playing as anything but a human noble, the starting stories are far better, love the dwaven noble one, you can really be a spoilt conceited idiot.

Ok might try that. My first attempt was as a human warrior but I really liked the starting story where your fort gets attacked and you have to escape.

I've now played all the intros and I think the dwarf noble (fighter, dwarfs just don't seem right as rogues) is the best intro closely followed by the dwarf commoner.
