valve have punished people for using the old exploits like hiding beneath the level if they were reported. just because valve have coded crappily doesn't mean you should take advantage of that just because its something you can do in a normal VACd server.

Also cruel 95.5% should have halos going by the blog but yes its a bit stupid of valve to expect that poking a little fun at these people won't get taken way to far by the many idiots of the steam forums.

I dont remember any punishment from valve for things like this.

Bans were made by server admins.

Valves intention was to not stop idlers, as this is not breaking TOS.

They stopped ppl using an unknown 3rd party app from tricking (hacking?) their systems....

There was the item servers where you could join, type something in the chat and unlock all the achievments for the class you were playing, there was also an external programme that unlocked achievments for you. Both of these were punished (though not nearly as much as this time) buy being unable to use their unlocks for a month (I think).

I have big doubts about the 95.5%!
I guess that's all people who CAN play TF2 (i.e. bought Orange Box)

And if really 95.5% of all players got it and equip it, spies around the world will start to cry, since disguises STILL don't include hats!


Uhmm power, didn't you want to revert to original tf2, aka everybody has the same hat? You're contradicting yourself there.
And right now, I'd say about 80% of all people are wearing the same hat (within the same class), if everybody had the option of 4 hats for each class, we clearly would have MORE diversity.
Oh and yes, I agree about your last sentence.

70% of all statistics are 55% made up at least 80% of the time. My point is not that everyone will look the same - I don't care about the look if that wasn't clear from my previous posts where I called the hats meaningless pixels. My point is, until now, if you have a hat, then you have something special - which justifies the drop rate being so low. It's not a common item, it's a rare item. If everyone has a hat, it's just not special or rare anymore, which is where all idlers are contradicting themselves, the main reason for them to idle being to get something rare and special.

I don't see how I contradict myself? I never complained about everyone looking the same nor did I ever asked for introduction of arbitary fashion items and make-up. It's just what I think will bite the idlers in the ass when it's all over. They are basically working VERY HARD at destroying the whole point of adding rare items... beeecause they want to have those rare items... now that's a contradiction if you ask me.

Edit: btw. I read that a cloaked spy with a halo equipped has still a perfectly visible halo. Valve's sloppy coding yet again.

I had my achievements cleared because the achievement cheat detector failed. and then they gave me all medic achievements which i'm still annoyed about, I harass them on steam support from time to time trying to get them cleared lol.

As for hiding under the level I dunno i'm trying to google but it's hard to find what i'm looking for. I remember a statement from valve saying report people for using these exploits and they will be dealt with. It was probably a short term vac ban after screenshots, videos, or demo evidence was provided.

Why does this STILL surprise me?
Edit: It just shows how unplanned and rushed they pushed out an update once again. And once again there was no need to rush it, idling has been there for months!

They are basically working VERY HARD at destroying the whole point of adding rare items... beeecause they want to have those rare items... now that's a contradiction if you ask me.

Nobody asked for all hats, but how about one?
