I seriously can't discuss this with either a straight face or any seriousness on the internet, unless I know the people in person. Just let it be known the death penalty is barbaric in my view, whatever the crime.

I say no to the death penalty, instead give them hard labour and a prison cell at the end of the day without an lcd tv, playstation, mp3 player, conjugal visits, or anything else.

Prison is supposed to be punishment, currently prison is better than what some people have to endure after having crime committed against them.

We as a country have gone backwards. There were far less people in prison 20/30/40 years ago becasue prison was just that, where as nowadays its not a deterant because of all the niceties, hence we have more people in prison than ever before.

This comes from all the soft liberals out there who go on about human rights, as far as i am concerned you forgo your human rights when you commit a crime, and you should be made to suffer for what you have done; death is the easy way out and would stop them from suffering.

Actually my original post never was about death penalty, but of course I tripped over my own cleverness in presenting my case and prompted that discussion.
And a few minutes ago I stumbled about this, so I thought it was appropriate to add this to a discussion I never intended, since it sums up quite nicely my take on that matter ...
