Edit: Surely both teams should either have a medic or have no medic? On this principle maybe an arena map could be used?
surely arena defeats the purpose of the experiment.. Something more in our normal line of gameplay (Dusty/badwater) would be better choices as we would be able to draw better conclusions and comparisons.. I think itll be a laugh  |

I could either:
a) Join the soldier team (as a soldier, unsurprisingly).
b) Join the anti-soldier team as a pyro.
Anyway, it sounds like an interesting idea.

No arena. I'm not interested in seeing who can kill whom first. Actually I'm not even interested in seeing who can kill whom more. I'm interested if a team composed completely of soldiers and indeed own a diversely composed team. In that spirit my initial impulse was to see how a team of soldiers does *without a medic*. Obviously the confidence into that class is not big enough to go along that route. So I would give in to *one* medic. More medics would defeat the purpose. No restrictions on the other team. Except: Again, initial impulse said: No soldiers. But that is less important to me. And as many medics as the other team wants! We could do this on a symmetrical map (Fastlane etc or a CTF map) or on a map like Dustbowl where the results for both rounds would be easier to compare than, for example, Gravel Pit. And quite frankly I haven't actually given a thought about on which team I would play I might be a better soldier than anything else, but actually I would like to see the idea of the soldier as über class disproved. |

I wouldn't say that the soldier is an ''uber'' class in the sense of being overpowered, so I'm with Teatime when he wishes to disprove that belief.
As they say, easy to pick up, hard to master.

Agreed. Not necessarily highlander style, but perhaps not more than 2 of a class (yes, even medic). I'd suggest a competitive style team composition, at least to start with- So for six try: 1-2Scout 1-2Sol 1 Demo 1- Medic 1- Heavy Then go from there. |
