I have a hard time believing those are real takes. Most of the enemies just run in like a bunch of lemmings with fixed distance from each other, who did they play against?

I played too little CS:S to say how the weapons behave there, but on CS 1.6 more than a half of those I'd say was pure luck (apart from staged entrances), I also had 4-5 headshots shooting "blindly" in a group of people, but I never had 6 people running out one after another to exact same spot, where their teammates died just seconds before. In many cases (AWP kills mainly) the enemy supposedly was standing around, waiting for the opponent to appear, but if you look at it, they'd kill each other by friendly fire if they were to shoot at their opponent from their position. Luckily they are usually taken out by a single AWP shot. And last time I played you couldn't shoot nowhere as accurate with the deagle, when shooting that fast. Luck or worse.

Dunno if you have played comp css power, but the ones where the enemies are running in as a group with pistols are called eco rounds. Near enough resigning yourself to losing the round (except when someone kills an awper and wipes the rest of their team) to save money for the next round. As for the 'luck' shots, I would bet a fair amount of money that none of us would 5 man those teams like those guys can, you can see them controlling the recoil etc.

Yep. My limited experience in CSS saw many, many amazing players kill me regularly. Key tactics such as walking around with the sights at *head height* actually makes a huge difference to your chances. Agree with Cheez.. these guys didn't rely on luck too much

I would say that the opponents didn't help mind.. running around in tight groups - and these shots were clearly hand picked. It would have been more impressive against better enemies tbh (did you notice the team kills there too?)

I didn't play CS:S competitively, but I played CS 1.6 since beta 1 and only stopped shortly after CS:S was released, most of that time competitively, though I wasn't a so called pro-gamer. Maybe CS:S is that different, I only played it a couple of times, but it has the same maps and the same guns, so it should have the same tactics and some of the things in the video just doesn't make any sense.

Eco rounds is a good arguement actually, I forgot about those, but then it wouldn't be anywhere near fragvideo worthy, you could as well film yourselves headshotting hostages on some random cs_ map. And if they all are that good, what hinders every single one of those lemmings from killing everyone with their pistol, like in some other episodes in that video? I mean they hardly ever shoot at them! Even after 4 of their teammates were killed within 10 seconds at the same spot and it is crystal clear where the enemy is, they just run out to get their headshot.

About recoil - I don't know, recoil control can only get you so far (as to actually hit stuff, instead of the sky) but to get 6 headshots out of it in full auto mode? It has to be lucky, you're not even aiming anywhere near them if you need to hit the general area of where your enemy is on full auto. Unzoomed AWP kill while jumping certainly was luck, you can't predict where the shot will go by just running, let alone jumping - but okay, I had those as well.

Take the scene on dust2, where he is hiding behind the doors on A long... who the hell doesn't check there? It's not like the map is around since yesterday, it's there for almost 10 years now.

Very few flashes when rushing in, very few shots back at the attacker. I don't know, it's just weird. From reading up it appears at least two of people in the video were already caught cheating.

Not saying everything about it is fake, the first three kills are nothing special, actually and Mp5 action is very hard NOT to get a headshot if you run in and spray.

I'm not saying it's impossible, this is apparently cherry picking from about 3000 demos the guy got sent to him. I'm saying that a lot of the moments there are lucky and the opponents seem really really bad (even considering the eco rounds - kills give you addition money, but they aren't even trying) but all the parts are supposed to be from demos of league matches...

Also the deagle kills are either really lucky or just bullshit. At that fire rate, aim or no aim, you aren't hitting where your crosshair is, at least not in 1.6. Maybe if I would keep up with CS:S scene, I would know some of the names there (most of which appear to be german), but it doesn't look like any of those guys are famous yet and I wonder why?

This just made me want to play CS again. I've been clean since when BF2 came out.

Echoes my comment about poor opposition tbh. The enemy rushed in and made it easy to shoot tbh. You points on map knowledge are very true - you look behind doors on CSS as much as CS.

I loved the desert eagle in CSS - you can seriously get those headshots in with quick reaction and precision. I only ever managed a few kills like this in a couple of years, but I have done it and seen it done (albeit with a "omfg... I somehow managed that" moment at the end).

That's why I don't like frag vids. Filming yourself killing people of lower skill is hardly fun tbh...

We have a CSS server btw Power. It runs gungame - a lighter take on CSS and you can have a go with the desert eagle and see what you think!

Yeah heated debates are great. After watching the video again, there are a lot of moments, where the video was sped up or slowed down to match the music (I watched without the music the first time). I have to admit some of the scenes look more believable to me, if I take the original speed of the game into consideration and if you say that deagle is more accurate that in CS, then okay. I just was really buffled at the moment on dust2, where CT came through on A long and hits with every hit very fast, while each of his next target is FURTHER AWAY from him. From what I remember of deagle, with the third shot you wouldn't even bother aiming, but yeah, my guess is, a lot of the video is actually sped up.

Soooo... CS:S evening tonight? Though I actually would like to play CS 1.6 more. ^^

Just about the comments you two have made about the 'poor' teams all rushing in together. If you look at those clips, they all just have pistols, fair enough power eco rounds might not be frag vid worthy, but on the tactics front do you think that walking in one by one to a guy with a defensive position with a much better gun is clever? The whole point of rushing in together is that on the occasions where the guy doesn't pull off a ridiculous 5 man, he doesn't have time to reload before the rest of your team can rape him with pistols.
The poor teams are the ones who linger about getting picked off one by one, before they even have a chance to get close to the enemy with kevlar/helmet and decent gun where being close is the only chance of killing him with a normal pistol.

And yes power I wouldn't mind a css evening Maybe not tonight though as we have an internal match.

Its one thing to go mob handed on an eco round, but I have the following points:

1)  I've seen smaller teams work (i.e. pairs) and the second team rush in on the reload tbh. You also generally avoid choke points if you can - I think the enemy team was naive here tbh (or the teams weren't matched). I also spotted team kills here too, which made this vid feel a bit false to me? I'm sure if you look again you'll see team kills during the headshot rush at some stages.

2) If you go all in as a 4 or 5 man team you can get done with a single flashbang and one or two enemy SMG. When I played an eco round with MoD clan we used pistols and flashbangs / smoke to even up the score. Only a couple of players would tool up with nades and we'd time a rush in smaller groups.

3) Eco rounds sound tactical, but tbh I found it a poor tactic myself. Yes you give a round up for more cash, but winning is the better reward (psychologically if nothing else).

I think the teamkills were a bug with SourceTV actually, I thought I saw some too, but the kill messages are all wrong.

Still, even on eco rounds - if you really want to overwhelm someone (or die as fast as possible, so you don't waste any time) you should just run out at the same time, here they go out one by one and if you consider that the video is sped up between the shots they aren't even that close together (this was, what stumbled me in the beginning, they were running out too regular, but that's because the video speed varies greatly, to sync the kills with the beat of the song). The very first spree on uhm... what is it? Prodigy? I don't even remember the map names anymore... anyway, on the very first spree every T drops an AK so that wasn't an eco round. On piranesi they also had at least some automatic weapons and there a some other vids which are definately NOT eco rounds. Of course it would be a boring frag video if it was from the POV of someone playing against a better team and getting killed constantly, wouldn't it?

Having seen the video with sound and realizing just how much speed manipulation is going on here, I don't find any kills "impossible" or "staged" anymore. I do find, however, that the video hugely misleads on what actually happens in those snippets as most of their frags didn't happen in that short time with a kill every second like a clock. I'd like to see the original demos, though (or not, would probably be somewhat disapointing).

Too bad on the internal, but I'd have to install CS:S first anyway, so maybe some other time.

Fair enough on your first two points junta, I've also seen the nades/pistol tactic work on better equipped enemies. But eco rounds a poor tactic? I'm not so sure. To be honest, I can't really see how you could play a match without eco rounds because when you lose a round, you get like 1500 after the first loss (think it rises a few hundred with each consequetive loss if i remember correctly?) so if you are buying up every round it would make it near impossible to get awps/aks and when buying up with 2000-3000, against similarly skilled opponents you will lose the round anyway, wasting precious money aswell

Yeah make sure you do reinstall it power, cus we sometimes pop on our gungame server for a night. Although we haven't done that much recently.
