Aye, that was an awesome day. I remember them doing a Spitfire plane flying over etc. and them showing different countries (UK, USA, Germany(?)) assault tactics (had set up a bunker thing). So had people rolling in on jeeps n shizz. Also the USA one had pyro technics to simulate artillery bombardement and a chap rocking a "flame thrower" (fired compressed CO2).

Also that howitzer was fucking intense! They fired a smaller calibre one followed by a heavy one (I think it was like a 60 pounder), and as Vegan said, almost left a crowd of nudists after firing! Unfortuantely I lost the phone that had the pic, but got a pic of it just as it fired, without it blurring. Twas awesome. Plus took pics of all the extra "exhibits" that were about. Kinda wish I'd done the Bayonet training there, but was mainly for kids.

Would love to get into the whole re-enactment circuit

Me too dude. Definitely stuff with guns though. Sword fights or medieval battles not for me. WW1, WW2, or maybe some Empire type line infantry stuff would be cool!

or does it not matter when it's on private property

i know there are some very anal rules when it comes to even refurbished firearms that are made such that they can never be fired.
