Expecting "german efficiency" joke in 3... 2...

Don't go there. I've had difficulty with German manufactured cars and their damn computer management systems reporting phoney problems! First a VW now a Skoda!!!!!

It makes a difference for me, it never drops below 90 fps now. Sadly, physics is calculated by the CPU in the source engine, or most part of it (there is a longer explanation). So when there is a lot of bang going on, then I used to slow down (and I ran tests in the background, and saw that the bottlenecking factor was indeed my CPU). The slowdowns were barely noticeable, but just enough to make me pissed, and it wasn't a FPS type slowdown. So it never dipped below 40 (which I think is a minimum for an FPS to be enjoyable) but the CPU couldn't keep up, and because of that, certain objects appeared very clunky.

Anyway, it's fixed now, done some tests, both cores are used now, meaning, that I can now play without any slowdowns during the hardest of battles.

Btw, this technology is not new, in any way, the best engine out there, Unreal, uses as many cores as you have, and uses them well. Heck, I played UT3 with better frames, and more fluidity than I did TF2, and the detail level of models can't even be compared. Source is simply an old engine, one that I hope they plan on retiring.

I, on the other hand, hope they keep it going. At least til Episode 3's been and gone anyway. I can't really afford upgrades, and while they're making new games on Source, I can still play them.

New engine does not mean upgrades. I bring forth as evidence ... Unreal! Very hardware friendly. The engine, which is not hardware friendly is the cryengine (also known as POS tech demo). Of course not every company has a genius working for them, hence only one Unreal.

The crysis engine is very nice, but horrible at the same time.  It looks and behaves awesomely, but totally rapes your PC of resources.

I'd much rather have TF2 running on full settings at 50+ FPS than any Crytech game running on medium at 30+FPS.

Skoda is not german manufactured, or is it?

Škoda is Czech. Though since they're owned by VW they mostly produce slight variations of VW hardware.
Although I have to agree that the newer Volkswagen computerized stuff is mostly rubbish. (Still better then Mercedes though, where your S-Class can stop working on you while driving and you have to reboot it. )

Although I have to agree that the newer Volkswagen computerized stuff is mostly rubbish. (Still better then Mercedes though, where your S-Class can stop working on you while driving and you have to reboot it. )

Lies... it comes filled to the top with junk, so no room for anymore and therefore not a very good skip
