Did you have a chance to give the Samsung NC10 a closer look?
Because I entertain the idea of getting a netbook myself.

I did look at the NC10, but seeing as I have a £1400 13" laptop, I decided theres no point to be honest
My MacBook is more than capable of doing those things and more... Ill just have to live with the extra 4 inches

But if your in the market for one, The NC10 is a good choice.. but seeing as Intel are about to launch a new moble cpu range with more power and higher clock speeds for similar prices, Id wait and see what they come up with before spending any money..
Like I said before, If the Dell Adamo is as good as it looks, itll be the one to get

There is also going to be a Dedicated OS for Netbooks based on Linux core..
Itll be shipped with most Samsung/Dell/HP ect netbooks... and itll improve performance by some milestone!

I bet it's going to be way too expensive though, Hard enough to justify getting an atom based netbook even at their current prices.

I think my laptop is on it's way out unfortunately, got some weird graphics effects when I boot up or resume. Lasts about 20 seconds then it's solid for the rest of the session. I've had a few spontaneous shut-downs recently too, almost always when playing flash.

could be a CPU issue... seeing as Flash uses cpu to render and calculate?

I've been thinking it might be a temperatures issue, installed a monitor to keep track of these.
Never had it crash doing other similarly stressful stuff though, like x264 720p playback (my gpu is crap so its all decoded on the cpu).
Not a windows thing either, had it happen in both Windows 7 and Linux Mint.

I picked out a 13.3" Dell XPS last year for my Dad, that was a really good price for the specs. Might try and get one of those if/when this laptop dies.

I've got an M1330 and it's the best lappy I've ever had

My dad's had a few issues with his - PSU, memory card reader and screen all died at various points in the first couple of months but i made him plump for the 3 years next day on-site support (It's pretty inexpensive all things considered), and they've been great.

I have run XP and vista on my macbook before now with bootcamp... was ok.. run a lot better than i thought it would
But now I just have OSX10.5 on there and it flies! I re-install it every six months (give or take) and it always runs fresh and fast.. Its no super computer but I think its awsome for the size!
Photoshop/Dreamweaver/Flash all run super smooth on it with nothing slowing it (apart from the crappy hard drive.. gonna replace that soon)

Personally I don't think I could ask for more from a laptop for work type stuff

It appears my store will get a few ASUS eeepc1000 (with the new CPU) for an attractive price.
Does anybody know if that one's worth considering? Tech Specs look quite nice.

It's worth considering if you don't already have a small laptop. They are great for Internet browsing and doing some light editing of documents, but i wouldn't want anything less than a 12" laptop if i actually had to do any work on it, keyboard, screen, and touchpad sizes make things a bit fiddly.
Check that the ones you are getting have the 8.9" 1024x600 res screen, the older 7" screens at 800x480 are annoying to browse on since most sites don't fit horizontally.
What sort of price are you getting them for?

BTW Chaos, I saw some previews of the Dell Adamo - it looks really nice, but from the specs and price i've seen you're bettwe off with a macbook air to be honest. It's a bit of a case of style over substance - the machined aluminium and glass make it fairly heavy compared to it's competitors, it only has ~4-5 hours max battery life, and it's only a 1.2Ghz Core2 Duo cpu.

Love mine. Great battery life. Have a proper laptop and a Netbook. That's phase one. Phase two - sell proper laptop.
