How would that even work? IIRC A main point of i7 is that the memory controller is integrated into the CPU itself, x58 boards therefore don't have a memory controller built into the northbridge. Even If they can shoehorn in the northbridge from a previous chipset generation it's going to have the same FSB limitations as now.
I think theyr adding a seperate chip or something for the memory... but it will be a dual chip...
remember the x48 chip is a natively a DDR3 controller but the rampage formula ect.. still take DDR2 so when it comes to ASUS, anything is possible! ever compared an ASUS top graphics card to a standard?
