If a medic follows me around I always try my darndest to protect them. I don't really expect anything from the medic back, I know they're important to the team and other classes can be more devastating than a soldier in a (normal) uber (although they still are effective CruelCow!)

In my opinion, the medic can only expect protection from the patient he keeps alive the most. When I play medic, which is a fair bit on WDG, I find myself sticking to people who can get the job done. This doesn't mean i don't heal others, but it does mean that these people get my ubers all the time. As for protection, I generally choose the classes which can protect me consistently, (ie. The Soldier, The Soldier, or for a riskier venture, The Soldier). Understanding the importance of the medic requires a little thinking about the game you're playing and I guess a lot of pubbers don't and just think about how many kills they can get.

That's the thing. WDG is pretty gosh darned lucky to have so many skilled and (arguably) intelligent members and regulars. Unfortunately on random pubs, it's hard to identify the players with good 'game-sense'. So in my opinion a medic has to choose his patient wisely, to ensure his safety and the safety of others. /salute

As for the scout problem. Soldier. And if that doesn't work, use more Soldier.

yukon is way too big.. it would be fine if it wasnt so bloody wide!
every area is massive which means the bigger/slower classes take forever to get into the battle
I spent most of my time playing solly today.. and on yukon, I spent 50% of the time getting to the battle.. and the other 50% dying

I Know this is about helping medics and that is really fustraiting when your team ignores you but i also have to appologise for my battle medic antics in the recent past on the servers. It all started from ubersawing Junta in the face while he was a heavy. I became addicted much like Brahms and his spade but the thing is Brahms just has to shoot rockets because he is a silly solly, I have to heal people so i can't just go about Sawing people like i did i need to heal so i pledge my next apearance to ubering people .

Anyone up for a spy uber?

And battlemedicing is fine, Fisted. I often do it when my teammates are not able to kill all those scouts that are trying to get me, it often helps me out and I can imagine many scoutplayers here who have hurtful memories

Its hard work.. even experienced heavies are seeing their medic die with more spies, good snipers and excellent scouts

1 more; If I uber you then charge into a sentry nest. This is because I'm trying to make it easier for you to kill the sentry, not to allow you kill other players on the opposing without Been knocked about.

I always try and run ahead of who I'm ubering to take the brunt of the sentry fire, very annoying when people then try and go on a killing spree. Not really a problem with you guys but happens often with non-regs

BTW, I wondered why medics charged in front of me when attacking sentries! I always shouted at them not to swap to ubersaw or else I'd lose my uber and get killed before I could taunt kill the heavy

Ah this is a topic made just for me, my non-german friendz. Playing heavy and medic the most, I know what it's like from both sides of this epic conflict. It's easy to get caught up in your epic rage, punching leetle babies left and right, shooting scouts out of the sky, blocking ubercharged spies (no wait, that shouldn't happen) - so you often just don't realize that your medic jumping around in front of you is actually him trying to evade some fire and not some kind of occult dance to celebrate your killing spree.

Then again, as a medic, I'm usually feeding my pet heavy all the information he needs to compile the priority lists of targets around him, even of those he haven't seen him yet. My biggest problem when playing heavy is to identify an immediate threat for me and the medic, though usually I don't get that much heals anyway. But if I have a medic on me, I try to do my best to protect him from whatever comes his way.

Well I've just read what I wrote and it looks less like a constructive contribution and more like an advertisement for my safety standards when being healed. So...

Rule #1 - Protect your medic... this means looking behind you from time to time. And as Claws says to me... "If I'm ever in front it means something really bad is happening behind". We weren't talking "in that way" of course
