On topic:
I'd like to think I'd have an diverse, yet distinctive musical taste, though I assume a look into my collection won't reveal that at first glance.
I refuse to restrict myself to specific genres, so my collection is rather broad. I like well done pop music (especially the more intelligent ones), I like good rock, I like some hard rock or heavy metal, I like prog-rock, I like a lot of independent (well, what we called 'independent' in the 80s and 90s) and my pet peeve are soundtracks (mostly orchestral scores).
Music I can't stand: Hip-hop, Techno, Country and what we call in Germany "Schlager" (hard to translate: It's the very bottom of Easy Listening) and "Volksmusik" (even harder to translate, because Folk doesn't do it any justice ... it's ... no, I refuse to even try)

Volksmusik is music oriented on the tradition of old folk songs (what you call traditionals), often with regional colouring (e.g. bavarian) of instruments and tunes.
Schlager is also structured rather simply, yet more open to modern influences in style and instrumentations.
Actually Ringel was quite merciful with his examples. Most of the stuff is usually much worse than this :-)

Ok oh ancient one.. I mostly listen to blues these days especially at Xmas when I get what every other Northerner gets - hardship & misery
Anything with  blues harp in it.
When I'm training I go for remixes . My fave at the mo is Ludacris vs Kylie Can't lick you out of my bed.

I love this thread, I get to speak about whats currently making my head hurt and giving me a funny ear.

I think the mindless, numbing frustration of sitting around doing nothing but mindlessly trolling the internetz for the past 2/3 months has rotted my brain as I find myself listening to this song and various others like it pretty much from 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday. The above song was by Anamanaguchi, but other classics I've come to love are by such artists as Sabrepulse (ignore the ropey video) and Firebrand Boy. You should all go out and listen to these kick ass nerds musicians and support them and give them all your money. Except for those people that muted their Gameboys; I'll be honest, you'll probably hate it.....

I havnt got much new music lately.. although the Asher Roth album was cool
very light mood and makes me smile a lot thoughout that album

Other than that, I have been making a lot of tunes recently but cant master them yet as I dont have drivers for my FW audio card
So untill then, youll have to wait to be disgusted beyond belief!

Other news - The new Mastadon album=PUREAWSOME!
Skynryd was awsome at wembly
And Satch is doing ANOTHER solo album without a singer so thatll be nice for guitarists
