I was away this weekend at a friends wedding (which went very well, until the registrar read out the brides name - who the feck is Joanne? Her name is Viv...thankfully we all laughed) when to kill some time I bought PC gamer magazine. In this months issue is their top 100 games....

Guess where TF2 came..... Well I couldn't really believe it, but yes it came first! We play the best game in the world ever.

Just thought I would pass that little bit of good news on Smiley

Amen to that.

Though technically you could claim TF2 (or any other game for that matter) as a time waster....but Jesus, not to the same extent as WoW, it's just horrific.

I totally agree - the game is too much tbh (i.e. so much time). Zasprel will clue us up - he used to play but has obviously seen the light recently (and maybe his bloodlust increased enough).

I've never played WOW so I can't comment but it sounds like every other MMPORG ever apart from Ultima Online.

I played WoW a while, and let me tellz you, while the story is OK at first if you are familiar with Warcraft lore, once you got your character to top level it starts to get boring. Well, at least for me it went from somewhat storyline to mindless grinding for equip.

Takes a lot of time, might be - as always - fun with the right people, story goes haywire after a while (Another Race? From Space? Yeah right...). WoW is too hyped and does not deserve a top slot in my eyes.

I loved playing WoW, but it was too much of a time sink and caused a few issues with the wife (I'm sure you know what I mean).

In terms of escapism and shear size it's great. However, the main purpose I like playing is playing within a team and TF2 is nothing but!
From the moment you start you are grouped and have objectives etc.. So I've ditched WoW and played TF2, which is clearly the better game Smiley

I'm looking forward to see where this genre of game goes in the future... more stages, interactive maps, team achievements, and a guild house (ack, what am I thinking) hehe

I used to play WoW, but it's just a terrible game.It's addictive, but terrible. The graphics suck dick (they get better in TBC, but still pretty shitty) you fight the same 20 enemies over and over again, they just change colour and size, and you have to grind so much (a lot more than in Diablo or other RPGs) which just slows the whole thing down. Why else would so many people risk a ban by botting?



I'm so happy that Deus Ex came 2nd, if it had a (decent) multiplayer it would come top IMHO.

How WoW managed to beat Oblivion I have no idea, I have played them both and as far as RPGs go, TES4: Oblivion is probably the most badass, granted it's not online, but it doesn't need to be.

lol i found oblivion a bit.... bleh...
silly inane chatter (was quite funny as bg noise) did my head in... and the massive world was pointless cuz you could fast travel everywhere...
but it most likely is one of my fav RPGs... but i dont like  them much so i wouldnt go by my opinion
