My birthday itself was yesterday but we all know time is relative.
Had an exciting day. In the morning went to a summit on SOVA; Safeguarding of Vulnerable adults though it included children too (safeguarding = protection from financial/sexual/physical abuse or exploitation etc etc, the normal stuff really). 'Summit' is a new term for me; what it seems to mean is sitting around tables in groups writing on flip chart paper and post-it notes and then feeding back. Not quite sure how it differs from a Workshop - probably in some fundamental and highly significant way that I'm too dim to understand.
Biggest excitement: they provided lunch!!! In social care even biscuits are a novelty and cause comment so lunch caused ecstasy.
After that, because it was my birthday, I treated myself to a cup of coffee in Costa Coffee (living the high life babes
), then it was back to the scheme to ring up Veolia who collect our rubbish, they weren't emptying our bins, to try and sort that out. I finished the day trying to find out from our Housing People where maintenance was with preparing some empty flats we have for new residents. This has been a nightmare and has taken months.
Didn't do anything special in the evening because it was a work night with work the next day, so not much point. Finished off my favourite chocolate though because my mum is going to bring new supplies on Sunday
