I think the way it works is you can buy a premium pack for each (of 4) civilizations, which basically unlocks everything for that civ (otherwise you unlock stuff as you play), as well as allowing you to do PvP (atm, it's only the co-op quests you can play together)

But tbh, the packs are £3.25, so I'd consider buying one if more people were playing.

Was in the beta for this, can be good fun. In the beta you eventually unlocked the PvP arena through normal play; don't know if it's still the same. Will download tonight, and edit an actual link into Tommy's post now. Scratch that, just realised it's now on Steam. Was wondering why the interest now.

Only problem I have with these kinds of games is that I just want to sit back and make a giant fuck off city without it being destroyed.

You might want to look into playing Civ4/5 on the easiest difficulty then hawt

I think I dig it because of the nostalgia, christ knows how many hours I put into AoE years ago.

I hammered Age of Mythology and all the AoE games, so this is also nostalgia :>

i used to play aoe1 on island maps, wall off my island and turtle like crazy. It was like an early minecraft for me and the ais were the creepers.

Spent my entire IT lessons at school playing AOE Cheesy We had a pretty good net connection so a few of us could play at the same time. (This is where GoW started)

So before I can even play this game after purchasing the Egyptian's as it's all on sale, it seems I cannot download my G4WL profile and therefore the game crashes...

...everytime.

Any fix?

Mine crashed at launch because the Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant thing didn't install properly. Check the stuff in the 'prerequisites' and see if there's anything that's missing/not installed properly Cheesy

steam is infuriatingly bad at telling you if a preq failed to install. Takes the piss that the best way to check is manually run each one instead of printing a message X failed to install.

Yeah, and because it failed it then decided that it had to run the .NET setup *every* time so I modified the installscript.vdf file so it stopped running it.
