My attendance at these is part of The Deal which sees my girlfriend able to demand foot rubs and have me get seren to sleep every night. Worth it.

Also, deals sound good. Would probably take EAS over 10% off if a majority of us were going to get it anyway.

In the back of my head this is already marked as the (at least) second vacation this year. I shall be flying in again though, for want of someone driving me all the way from Germany.

What actually would there be for say, someone like me who doesn't play TF2 competitively or any of the games on offer?

It's why I suggested the minecraft speed build, I'm not getting back into CS just to find a team as the scene is completely dead and you look like a dickhead.

The competitive side really isn't important. I mean, it's there if you want it, but it's not the focus. The main thing is just meeting everyone, having some drinks, playing whatever. We tend to jump between games a lot, we've had TF2, CSS, the L4D series, The Ship, Bloody Good Time, UT2K4, LoL, Magicka etc. If you want to play something multiplayer chances are you can find someone.

I suppose my main point would be it's a social thing, not a comp thing. At least for the vast majority of people I know.

EDIT: Oh, and it's not even just a gaming thing. One of the good bits of i40, though sadly absent from i43, was a riddle/treasure hunt that involved running round the site finding clues. Also, you can of course do the Minecraft thing, but bear in mind the people that will win it will be those who spend the entire LAN on their projects.

Srsly, comp wise, we never did well, so fuck it.

And as has been said, the Minecraft comp is generally won by the people who planned in advance with designs n shit and spent 60 hours/72 hours of the weekend building. If that's something you wanted to do, go nuts. I can be convinced to help out under the conditions that a) the idea is awesome b) I just help lay blocks
