God damn this game looks like shit...
edit - Also, tats.
'nother edit - Well, that was short. Not altogether sure I liked it tbh, seemed a lot more "LOLABILITYSPAM" then any kind of tactical whasname...Not sure if want anymore...

well i'm playing origins on hard and most of the time all im doing is hitting numbers like some kindof WoW fool. I think i'd probably have to zoom out to the tactical cam and cast the right mage spells and such but really the game has been frustrating more than tactical. In baldurs gate my group would win because I used up a precious charge on my fireball wand, swigged some haste potions and maybe some giant strength and then the mage cast the right spells. In origins the tactics seem to go so far as healer heal spam, drink health potion when low, maybe bother to cast a few spells if its an elite boss. Its frustrating on hard but mostly I've lost because some bloody spider got lucky with overwhelm rather than a tactical defeat. Not enough depth to the game to start with so boo to even more dumbing down. Maybe I should just buy NWN2

Kinda in two minds about this. In DA1 I modded for extra tactics slots (and tweaked AI so rogues move behind people and the character you're following will run through tactics also) and the game pretty much plays itself through trash. I just manage potions, interrupts and AOE spells. Boss fights were more interesting though. I was mainly playing for the storyline. I enjoy the occasional challenging fight but cba to micromanage every single trash battle.

I liked micro-ing my way through every battle, I played on the hardest difficulty (with no mods ) which made the micro pretty much essential for even the most basic fights. What difficulty was the demo btw, I don't remember getting an option to change it? I seem to remember I started DA:O on normal where you can pretty much just wade in and spam abilities which is why I whacked the difficulty up. I think I'm going to give the demo another go, wasn't in the best of moods last night and think I was a bit harsh.

Apparently this is getting hammered in reviews.
On the other hand Ive been watching Darksydephils playthrough and it looks like the consoleversion has more actionoriented combat and less RPG "Bullshit" (FOR ME). I think Im gonna get this for mah 360.

I'll have to wait until the ultimate edition I think; the first game was fine, but man the amount of DLC (and I've still got Origins to play) just made it seem ridiculous later when I Had the game but none of the (very expensive) DLC. Also waiting to see what you guys think of it

The majority of the changes they showed look useful and well considered. Lets wait and see if it feels right ingame...

Give us a proper review Ringle mate, I'd be interested to hear what someone who knows what they're talking about has to say about it .
