DA2 demos out tonight via the Bioware website, anyone else going to try it?

<3 DA:O, but not sure if want some of the changes they've made that I've been reading about...

Aparently its a prelude to the full game, so no spoilers, AND you get some random item to use in the main game for finishing the demo.

Full games out March 11th with the usual stupid stupid stupid Bioware options of random spits and spats of DLC depending on where you order it.

Yo breds dis game looks like, well shit na. Like proper console RPG and generic fantasy setting what. I know that Bioware's got respect, I recognise that, I proclaim that but I gotta say, even then, any game with like, dragons, and swords and shit in 2011 got to step hard na. Got to step hard, an when I guage da pre release trailers an that, it look bear uninspired.

Hence the demo, see how bad they "consolized" it then make a buying judgement on that.

edit - Demo's out at 5pm tonight according to the interwebs and is already out for eggsbawks.

I think I'll wait for the big Steam Xmas Sale 2011 and get it cheap with all released DLC ... just like I did with DA:0!

It's a good game, wouldn't recommend many of the DLCs though

The free day 1 DLC with Shale was ok, but the rest are a total waste of money.

Really looking forward to this.
Don't know if i try the demo, shitty internet ect....
Will just listen to the things people say who played the demo. But what I heard so far sounds pretty good.
I bought DA:O without demo and any knowledge about the game itself, just because bioware was on the box and I wanted to play a rpg.
Think I will do it again. They won't fail at this one.

Like tommy said: DLC was shit and had nothing to do with the main story line. They said they will work on that. Means: DLC with the main char.
Still not sure where to buy it. German sources are awfully expensive.
Maybe uk-amazon. But they have no steamsupport then. hnngraa

Crappy DLC releases puts me off buying many games on release, I think i'll wait for a "ultimate edition" on this one.

I dont know, I really wanted to get into the great story the first one had to offer, but I failed at the combatsystem and all that crap about skilltrees and gazillion spells which resulted in me dying alot even on the very first encounters. Maybe Im just too used to casual bambam shoot the mens but I didnt want to be so tactical about fights and stuff, I just want to move on and get to the next dialog/cutscene/whatever. If they would give it a fairly simple combatsystem like Mass Effect, I will so get it, but that would probably upset everyone else

I will stilly try the demo and see if I may get used to it now.

Demo is... interesting

Combat feels weird. Quite difficult to control, like you need a 3rd peripheral to stop you looking downhill all the bloody time. It feels a lot like the witcher but with DA camera angles. Also a lot of prancing about a lot between mens which made it feel like they've trying to Arkham Asylum it up too. Does feel easier than the original however.

Character choice is even more limited than the original DA, with the only choice of race being human noble. I went male rogue so I could backstab wimmins up the bum with my +2 penis of enchantment (with -10 fire damage to myself when I pee) and some of the abilities are cool, I liked evade and backstab especially. Although seemingly you can't hit backstabs anymore by walking behind someone and stabbing them. The skill tree is... different. Not better or worse. I like whats added but it doesn't look like a whole lot has been.

Characters themselves seem mostly boring, interaction seems interesting though. You have a scale of Friend and rival between party members and conversation pushes it up and down. Looks like theres only 1 love interest character (stolen shamelessly from Pirates of the Caribbean) so anyone wanting to play through it with the moral compass of the Marquis de Sade like I did in the first one is going to feel a little hard done by.

Quite curious to see where they take the story, which already seems ridiculous and incredibly dumbed down. But I do like however the references to the first one, and also filling plot holes. The story is basically you're the something relative of that blond king who died at Osteggar and now you're on the run. I think then you go to that other land place where assassin matey was from. I think this story is playing at the same time as the original, and you meet Flemeth just before she saves yourself in the first one. (However if that is the case then she seriously dressed down for you in the original)

Despite all that I kinda liked it. Day 1 purchase for me because I have too much disposable income. although there's quite a high chance it's going to make me cry for ruining a game I loved so hard.
