The problem was they made the heavy easy.  They gave him the GRU, they increased his movement speed while spun up, and they decreased the spin up/down time.  The skill in heavy was being able to get the drop on people and mow them down - now he can get the drop on any class simply by bombing in with the GRU and jumping around a corner.  By the time you see that shit eating grin on his face, you're dead.

That said, I can recall two maps in the past week where I have seen a team of 3 heavies (with medics) beaten, simply because the other team was co-ordinated (ish) and communicated.

If a team gets rolled the scramble kicks in.  If it doesn't - an admin will sort it.  Failing that, there's usually somebody sporting enough to switch sides.  Failing that, BAN GRU / BAN ENGINEER / BAN CRITS

The majority rules, no matter how close the vote. As indicated, the leaders will continue to see how the heavy impacts upon the ganeplay and revisit as necessary.

I'll remind people that the vote in question was not on whether a two heavy restriction was a good thing, but whether we thought it even merited a trial. Actual support for a two heavy restriction is therefore likely to be significantly less than a 50/50 split

that's a little harsh on the other classes.. just because one of your favored classes is heavy, doesn't mean the rest of them are rubbish =/

I think u misunderstand Chaos. I think Final was following along the lines that people have a few classes they are dedicated to and others they tend not to use and are therefore rubbish at. Therefore, further class limitations would potentialy mean people would be forced into the classes they play badly at.

And WDG was a democracy when 'I' decided it was OK!!!!!

That's what I meant. It could potentially mean all classes get limited to 2 if the heavy could be, and so your usual soldiers, demomen, whoever get relegated to playing off classes which are potentially not even in the same category, and limiting the offensive potential of a team (defenders get it easier).

I'd be surprised actually if the ones with 2 limits, if raised to 3, would be noticeable now the class packs are out, although the utility of having 3 of such classes is more limited compared to the heavy and others.
