Incase anybody fancied learning a bit of defensive magic, I did a bit of experimenting recently.
For starters, there are four ways to cast a spell, all of which can be used in a defensive manner:
1. Left Click, this simply puts an arc infront of the character.
2. Shift+Left Click, this is the Area of Effect spell (AoE) which casts the spell either around or in the immediate area of your character.
3. Shift+Right Click, whilst this on it's own will do a standard sword attack, one can enchant the sword with an element before an attack. In defensive spells, these create a line infront of the character.
4. Mouse 3, this creates a spell on your character.
Simple- Shield - basic defensive element. Will reflect beam type attacks. Be warned, the reflect effect happens on both sides. For lulz, try creating a sphere around you (shield + AoE) and cast an arcane spell and see how long you last.
Interesting- Shield + Earth = Defensive rock. For lulz try using Shield + Rock on yourself to cast a rock over you. You can break the rock by casting a spell.
- Shield + Water = Rain.
- Shield + Electricity = Lightning.
- Shield + Fire = Ring of Fire (Duh!)
- Shield + Any Element on Self = Resistance to that particular element. Note, casting Shield + Life WILL make you immune to friendly health spells, including your own.
OMG- Shield + Arcane = LAND MINES. Combine them with other elements for secondary effects (fire = set victim on fire, water = douse them in water, ice = freeze them.)
- Shield + Life = Health Balls. These will heal 600HP a pop.
I did manage to get some ice blocks up momentarily, you need like Life + Shield + Ice or something...
