Just an update from me regarding the server. They replied to my ticket at lunchtime asking for the login details for it but I didn't see it until about 3pm as I was at work. I replied back and havn't had a response from them.

Obviously it looks like it's powering up as they must be getting a login screen but with no net connection - not much I can do about that until they sort it.

Thanks for the loan of the server Kello - will give people somewhere to play until we get it sorted! Smiley

Hi Guys,

Just had an update from RackSRV about the downtime this evening.

Our upstream confirmed that only 1 of their 3 routers, which are configured in VRRP for redundancy, were actually announcing the above block and consequently, when this router was having routine work carried out on it which in normal circumstances would not be service affecting, the block stopped being announced and subsequently all traffic to it stopped.

Upon discovering this issue, our upstream immediately brought the original router back into service which restored connectivity but as yet have been unable to ascer tain why the other 2 routers were not announcing this block as they should.

I have been assured by our upstream that the matter will be escalated as a priority to their router vendor but in the interim, no more work will be carried out which may require a router to be taken out of service again.

As a final note I would like to reassure you that the issue tonight is entirely separate to the issue that affected large portions of UK internet on Saturday, the timing has just been very unfortunate!

Please accept my sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused, your patience and understanding has been greatly appreciated.

Our hosts are aware of the issue - hopefully it'll be sorted soon!
