Well, MOVIES:

Erm, last thing I watched was Inception, which I thought was overrated -- the concept is good but they seemed to have gotten carried away with it.
To fulfill my girlfriend sappy movie quota, I took her to a showing of Once, which I find to be quite a good movie as these things go -- to quote her: "Moving, but not cheesy."

Looking forward to go see Megamind some time soon -- just because I happen to like CGI feature films. Unfortunately I missed Despicable Me which looked promising, but I couldn't find an english showing of it around here. (Boy do these translations suck...)

Hm, what else to like: Primer -- so convoluted it hurts (see the visualization in the lower right). Being John Malkovich -- strange but somehow intriguing. Avatar -- nice 3D version of Dancing with Wolves.

More opinions on request. PS: I agree that animés can be hit and miss.
