I think it's absurd to pay for such little gain, like hat for £11 or whatever it was is crazy.

That being said we have enjoyed plenty of free updates and stuff, perhaps we should be grateful we got what we did!

Problem is; more actual weapons upsets the balance if they cannot be got easily. You can't even currently craft a few of the items; it's random or store-brought.

Cosmetics like hats - charge whatever! They don't affect the game one bit. Apart from now we decisively better stats with have item sets...hmm....

It's the weapons that are an issue for me; it's tempting just to say "Hi valve, thanks for continuing to improve the game!" but the price is quite high - saying "that's a darn nice price" is upsetting - it makes it seem like future things will be as or if not more expensive because these sold so well - which will make it even worse.

Tough choice right?

Paying for items in a game I already bought... Naaaah. Although it feels like I randomfind very little, I'm not yet that desperate.

Idk, im like Hzza on this. I bought this game for around £2.99 in one of those sales ages ago.

I can honestly say iv'e bought games for £40 which have lasted me nowhere near as much, anything up to a week (*cough* age of conan).

I'd happily buy like a hat or something which doesnt effect the gameplay if it were around a fiver or so, i'd never pay for the weapons. Half the fun iv'e had since I literally crafted away *everything* in my backpack has been playing with the intention of getting some of the items back, which in turn makes the game more fun as the game changes in some way.

I don't find any fun in crafting. If the game had some kind of wizard where it could say 'hey, you could make one of these hats with this, this and this', it'd be ok, but I've zero interest in looking up recipes and so on. So as I'm too tight to pay for hats, don't seemingly play enough to get many dropped, and can't be bothered crafting, I guess I won't get many.

Pretty much what clwas said. I have -- I think -- precisely one hat (the pyro's beanie) which I found. Cheaters Lament, Facehugger, etc. don't count for me because they have been awarded through some other, non-TF2 means. I will craft a Medic hat once I find enough other assorted crap for that, but other than that, I'm comfortable enough with the loadouts I use that I don't need to buy new items just to see whether and how their properties can work for me and possibly having to adjust my playing style accordingly. I'm just too casual a player for that.

Claws, you've got at least enough for a hat in that backpack of yours, and probably enough spares for a class specific one should you desire it. I'll give you a list of what you'd need to craft if you want
