They've released an SDK, even if they did start charging for maps, someone could just remake it.

charging for maps wouldn't work.. that's one of the reasons, another is that servers would have to pay for them, and they don't have a "steam account" like clients do! AND if a server changed to a "pay for" map, it'd kick everyone from the server, therefore, killing it and the experience you got from it |

I'm fairly certain you have to pay for:
Maps
Individual class unlock items
The times are changing. This could get interesting.

If you have TF2 on the X-Box, you don't get anything do you? I thought they only got the pyro update ealier in the year...
Then again I don't have an X-Box so I don't really pay much attention to these things...

though i doubt i'll every buy more than one item, 2 quid wouldn't break the bank for a thanks-valve-for-keeping-on-updating-the-game.
also duels should be free, i mean come on! put them in random drops and everyone would be happy, doesn't mean that everyone can do it all the time but doesn't mean you have to shell out to enjoy it (as it is i doubt many people will ever get to try that feature)
