I don't have any first hand experience with it, but by all accounts the wireless is shit, which for a £100 wireless mouse is unacceptable. Consider a Mamba maybe? Pretty sure resident Razer fanboi Chaos has one he regularly faps over.

I doubt it's the wireless mouse components actually at fault though, more likely to be interference in the surrounding area that it's being used in

4 different, independent reviewers and multiple forum posters must've been using their microwave as a mouse mat then because shedloads of people have reported it...

edit - Also, afaik, Tea can't use a wired mouse for logistical reasons, hence the wireless recommendation .

I've tried the G700, and didn't like it. It did cut out a LOT.

there's going to be lots of interference, you're next to your computer! Tea is a nerd too so I doubt his computer setup is minimal so he's not gonna get away from that issue, and removing stuff for a mouse (if you're like me) is unacceptable.

ANYWAYS. Unless you have the money to plump for a mamba, go wired

Many many devices use the same frequency band (2.4Ghz) as wireless mice.

To name a few examples:
cordless phones,
bluetooth
car alarm systems,
microwaves,
wi-fi

And bearing in mind that these have ranges of up to about 100m makes it very easy for something to interfere with it.

i have a wireless cheap mouse, only have problems when i plug in the micro usb cable for my phone, can't explain it the cable doesn't even have to have the phone on the end it kills the mouse anyway. Ordinarily I have 0 problems with it cutting out, but then I don't really understand the expensive mouse thing, having never used any.

Huh? Actually I don't care about the mouse to be wired. I want my keyboard to be wireless (but sadly so far I haven't seen a wireless gamer keyboard yet )
Also the G700 offers both options. So the wireless part is not essential.
I just saw it in our store today while quickly checking the peripherals-section before work and was curious.

@Deadly: I know. But for one it's a topic worth reviving every few months (without dragging up old threads with outdated content) and also I wanted to leave open the possibility for this thread to become more general.

Ah! Ok, I thought you needed both wireless! Wired, generally, they said that the G700 performed well, but felt cheap and had an odd shape. Also, the additional thumb buttons didn't feel great and there was something about the buttons on the LMB but I can't remember of the top of my head. Still, not worth the money IMO. If you want a wireless mouse, spend an extra £20 and get a Mamba and if you want a wired get an MX518 which is near enough the same thing with 4 less buttons and slightly lower DPI.

For my money, MX518 all day long . Or if you're looking to splash some cash get a Kone, quality piece of kit.

Worth it? I have an intellimouse which is decent, durable no mouse accel. Not sure if it will be more suitable for my needs.
