http://notch.tumblr.com/post/1525944516/an-update-is-coming-tomorrowso he went back on his word and fixed minecarts already. also we can flip the server setting hellworld = true on and any new chunks generated will be hell chunks. Anyway looks like hes getting close to sorting most issues apart from real hellworlds and damage

its still not out yet deadly, hes working on some last minute fixes to the boat, it remains to be seen if he releases today, he already promised yesterday and delayed. Also hes put the boat fully server side and now it moves like poo because of latency, he really needs to get some client-side prediction going.

So anyway, I heard before making Minecraft, Notch helped develop an MMORPG.
Guessing he didn't go near the online code for it. Maybe he just wrote the terrain deformation engine.B

i don't know why he just doesnt change it so like the model for your guy just becomes a model with a boat stuck to his feet, it wouldnt be a nice solution like having the boat server side with client-side prediction but it'd work for now and its not like boats interact with anything much, but i suppose its more important for minecarts to be truely serverside and all vehicles should use the same logic
