I was chatting to Tommy last night about this mod and I thought others might be interested.
If you've played KotOR II, then you'll know that the game is brilliant throughout, and then the ending jumps out of nowhere, kicks you in the balls, then runs away laughing, making no sense and leaving you in quite a bit of pain.
The reason for this is that Lucasarts rushed Obsidian for an early release (curse you, George Lucas!) so a lot of the game's content (including a whole alternate major questline) was cut from final release.
Obsidian, being smart developers, kept the unused assets (voice acting, cutscenes, textures etc.) for the cut bits in the final release, so all it took was some smart modders to dig deep into the data.cab things and find the relevant stuff to create the final levels, scripts etc. And they did.
Version 1.6 of the mod was released yesterday, so it's being presently maintained.
N.B. You'll need to register an account for their forums to download the file, otherwise it will give you some bollocks message about exceeding daily usage allowance or something.
The Mod should restore a whole bunch of stuff to make the game a better experience.
It should also fix a whole bunch of irritating bugs (such as one where the sound for all dialogue would immediately skip, giving you 0.1 seconds to read every bit of text that flew past).
It needs you to install the patches for the game first, which are found
here.There's a
higher res cutscene pack out there too. It's a gig download though.
Hope this helps, dissatisfied KotOR II players!
