So as one or two of you might have noticed, I'm going to i40.
Since I've never been in London (heck GB) before I thought I'd spend a day or two being touristy.

So...any insider tips of must see points of interest?

If you wanna be proper touristy I would suggest Windsor, seeing as it's not too far away from i40 anyway. London's just shops, bits of concrete and poo.

The Trocadero might be of interest; IIRC its a massive indoors games arcade/mini theme park. Other then that, BucPal, V&A, Science/Nat History Museum are all good shouts and fairly central.

Oh shit yeah! Buses pwn. Also, don't cross roads if the traffic lights are anything but red or you WILL get run down; Londoners take traffic lights VERY literally.

Interesting...in austria it's the opposite: the bigger the city the less people care about the lights.

Anyway, I have nothing special in mind. It's just that I realized that I'll go to London and I'd see next to nothing of, not even hear the famous 'mind the gap please' and that feels kinda wrong.
So I thought about flying a day sooner and spending a day in London doing...anything.

go to museums (natural history, science etc) or art galleries (Tate) or see interesting things (Buckingham, Trafalgar square) and get very drunk in the many good pubs

London is massive and the big attractions are expensive if you are doing more than one of them.  Tower Bridge, Tower of London and HMS Belfast (2nd World War destroyer) are all pretty close together and all worth a visit.  Then there's the London Eye (big wheel opposite the Houses of Parliament), Madame Tussauds (waxworks) The London Dungeon (more waxworks) and Buckingham Palace.  If you want free stuff to do there's the Science & Natural History Museums (connected together).  The Underground is quicker than buses but you don't see much

Book in advance for the London Eye and all UK train tickets

Where are you flying to?  You do realize that a "London" airport means somewhere in the south of England

London Eye is a good touristy place, the double decker sight seeing stuff runs all round the city with the ability to hop on and off when and where you like.

Other places:

1) Baker street / Marylebone for Madame Tussauds
2) Buckingham Palace / Pall mall / Trafalgar square
3) British museum (if that thing is your bag)
4) Tate modern (again, if it is your thing)
5) Tower of London (near Fenchurch Street)
6) The Jack the Ripper tour - around east London, Whitechapel and Aldgate
7) Tower Bridge

I'd say get a one day pass on the tour bus and decide what takes your fancy

Was in Trocadero earlier today. Yea, basically a big arcade with bowling alley and some other shit. And Teatime, you're right about the Alien experience thing. I was too young to go on it when it was there, but my older bros and parents went on it and still talk about it to this day.
Tbh, I wouldnt bother with the London eye, over priced and a bit meh. However I suppose it's one of those things you should try and do at least once.
Would def recommend the science museum.

Also if your up for it, could go see a west end show. I'd recommend Avenue Q, but there's loads of good ones
