I didn't like the original freight map, but the new "official" version looks and plays much better.
Even when the teams are not even.. it seems a very hard fought map. The last cap can be very hard to take (it is a bit chokey), but at least there are multiple ways out to try and attack. The map has it all really,
Main chokey areas for the big fights, but different routes as well Good engineering points Sniping areas Sneaky routes for spies Strong defend-able points to fall back on I'm not sure of all the differences / changes made, but I most notice the routes in and around the last capture point.
Would be interested to see how this plays in 6v6, given that it looks highly possible to fall foul of a sneaky scout back-capping behind an attack

I've rarely played the old version and the new one only once in 6v6, so I can't say much yet.
Looks like it'll get spammy around first and second cap with many people.

I like both versions, but the newer is less choke-y. Especially the second point.

Much improved the new routes to and arround the centre CP open it up greatly and remove the tendency for the team who capped it first always winning or at worst never losing, closing down routes to the second cap is much better and you can now actually get into the final cap area without dyin to spam or sniper fire.
Good tactics i have seen are send a Pyro or a Scout underwater at the middle cap point to flank the other team or get a tele in the water on the other side the water route is at present not used a great deal At middle, go right and come at the opposition from the flanks Snipers staircase outside the base, as it directly faces Mid, and gives a view of the left and right flanks you can jump along the wall to completely remove the threat of backstabs
Did you know ? Freight is the second most downloaded map for Team Fortress 2 on FPS BANANA. The developer, is also known for developing Steel.

It looks nicer than the original. I don't really care for the tactic of making the last point a deathtrap but having a super fast capture time to compensate though.

The middle area didn't change all that much, I think the only thing that's new is, that you can now run on the roofs - even that might be old, I can't get there as a scout or heavy. The most changes were at 2nd point and the right side of the last point.

Only played the old one a couple of times but I like the new one. It was the map where I threatened to kick French people off their own server though.

Its a very good map, a 5cp map that I actually like.... main reason being all classes are useful in many areas of the map, and its well balanced. I get bored of the other 5cp maps, but freight is still interesting (at the moment?)

Don't really like new or old for public, last point is far too chokey imo.

I enjoyed last nights pub play on this map but I think it was down to who was playing rather than the map

Anyone moaning about it being chokey at the end, just needs to play the (any) map on default spawn times (Even WDGs are limited!).
With truly default spawn times (and player count) there is no map which is chokey imo

Haven't really played it enough to judge properly. I won't really like it until there's the option to ride the trains from the first cap to the middle though (I DON'T CARE WHAT IT WOULD DO TO BALANCE I WANT TO RIDE TRAINS K)
