It was an odd question. How can making peace mean that you are mature. What? Only the young fight authority? Ridiculus. The young may be louder about it, but I feel that there are "mature" people that will always question and fight authority. And probably a good thing to.

Example: "Making peace with the establishment is an important aspect of maturity."
I  chose "Disagree" because I feel that a community/society needs a certain amount of disence and even conflict to develop and progress. So "making peace" would be wrong in general. In that regard conflict is in no contradiction to maturity. However, the question implies that as a part of maturing young people learn to fit in, to arrange themselves. This is of course valid and important as well.

I concur with the above gentlemans assessment, becoming a mature member of society in no way implies the development of satisfaction with the establishment

A few others I had trouble with:

"The enemy of my enemy is my friend."
WTF?

"Military action that defies international law is sometimes justified."
So strongly depends.

"Controlling inflation is more important than controlling unemployment."
I bet you could have conferences at end about this question.

"Protectionism is sometimes necessary in trade."
Again, this is difficult to say in abstract terms.

"It's natural for children to keep some secrets from their parents."
Sigh. Of course it's natural. But what does that say about parenthood and good children/parent relationship.

"People with serious inheritable disabilities should not be allowed to reproduce."
FFS. What could ever be the right answer here?

"There are no savage and civilised peoples; there are only different cultures."
Too simplistic. There are sometimes savage elements in "civilized" peoples (e.g. honor killings).

"First-generation immigrants can never be fully integrated within their new country"
Most likely not. But the interesting points are the following generations.

"In a civilised society, one must always have people above to be obeyed and people below to be commanded."
Again, too simplistic.

"These days openness about sex has gone too far."
Tough. Too some degree yes, yet at the same time no!

BTW: If you strongly disagree with everything you get this (which is kinda interesting in itself in).

If Lib Dem get in and raise personal allowance for income tax from £6000 to £10000, that's almost £800 extra in your pocket (if you earn >10K ) Sound Interesting now?

But look again.. at the other stuff that gets taken away (and the fact that you'd be joining the EU). It's all smoke and mirrors whatever party you look at. Give with one hand, take with the other Wink

It's the masively low turn out that gets me. If it's more that 38% I'll be supprised. Loads of people just don't bother to vote. Which seems wrong in a democracy. If you don't vote then surly you have no right to complain. But the non-voting populus will then reply they don't vote because they don't like any of the parties.

If I had the time and the money I would set up my own party and call it "None of the above". I'd have no polices, no plan. I would just be the safest protest vote going.

Have a demorcratic right to vote, but think all the major political players are a bunch of swindaling bastards? Then vote for "None of the above".

That way you can vote, feel that you have exersied your right to vote, but have protested at the same time.

If by some mirical I got in I'd have to very quickly come up with some polices. But let's face it, I wouldn't do much worse.

When it comes to this genral election, if your finding it difficult to chose, think thus.

Which party do I distrust the least?
