So, I thought I'd risk sharing with you some of the exciting comic japes I get up to when not stabbing John in the back or ordering Sir Alan Chives, my butler, around.

Sorry for non Facebookers, that's the only place that concert has been put up.
The songs can be found in the music player, bottom left hand side.

The first 6 tracks are Cambridge University Brass Band, the next few are Lancashire (not me playing) then the last 2 are joint items.

I play Soprano Cornet, of which there is only one in the whole band, the super high squeaky thing that's very loud in most pieces and often goes wrong. Yup, that's me.

Good stuff! Especially the Largo. Beats our brass band, anyway, although our cover of 'If you leave me now' by Chicago was hailed as "awesome" by one of our tenor horn players. I might eventually have some evidence of my uni's concert band, which is a bit better organised, but the guy in charge of the CD is a lazy bastard, so I'll just slip in a couple of recordings of my old county band (make sure you're sitting comfortably for that last one) and stop hijacking your thread.

Incidentally, should you ever somehow find yourself in Southampton on a Tuesday or Sunday night with that tasty Sop. Cornet you'd be more than welcome to make sweet music together.

I'm a french horn player, but I got dragged to brass band by my concert band horn section leader on the grounds that I was the only one who showed a hint of transposition talent. It does mean our brass band horn section is more french than tenor, but that's probably the least of our worries.

Not come across many Brass conductors who allow French Horns in. You're waaay too versatile for stick-in-the-mud brass bands.
