But seriously scout does need a buff. The FaN as much as you complain about it, is not rubbish at all. Probably the second best scout in Europe uses it to devastating effect.

There is no way that the scout needs a buff, he rapes every class 1v1 in most situations. Btw if you mean rebeli, I think he rapes so much more with the normal scatter to when he uses fan. And I have never said the fan is shit, just very annoying.

Cheezy, Nub on a mission is getting back in business, and i've always been impressed by his movement more than other scouts. but that aside, Dignitas' scouts are the best just because they win everything, individual skill aside (TEAM fortress)

Nah mate, I meant wltrs. When I meant complain, I was talking about Power and Hzza's opinion on the scout update.
Best this year was probably zerox/bybben.

Zerox was immense for yyt.

And yea we know dignitas is the best team noob but we actually are talking about individual skill. I doubt I need to remind you but individuals make a team.

I'd agree with you anytime that FaN can be devastating and that was exactly the problem with it. Stopping you right there, with no chance to evade the second blow and genereally affecting you from an inapropriate distance. All the while giving you a rocketjump light.

I've yet to see how it feels post latest update, but previous to it I just felt dirty when using FaN. It's not that the unlocks sucked, it's that one of them (Bonk) was/is useless and the other two plain overpowered to the point of almost universal hate or at least frown. Both has been nerfed step by step since then, until one of them is hardly even similar to what it used to be (never used it much, so don't care) and another is maybe just right post this update (will have to try, didn't play yet).

You guys need to get this out of your head, its a weapon in the game so if you think you can use it well to win matches then do it! I'm not saying you should all go and use the fan constantly but its this gaming chilvary that confuses me, if you can use the gun effectively then use it!

As for Bonk! it isn't useless per se, rather it's use is too specific; distracting sentries. I agree however it was not a good unlock. Neither was the Sandman.

Regardless, the Vanilla scout in no way needed a buff or a weapon which made it even easier to kill. Unlocks for the Scout and demo were probably the most difficult to conceptualise. Neither needed anything new and I think Valve were afraid of rocking the boat.

In my opinion the demoman's update has been more of a disaster due to how it's ruined his role and main abilities in favour of mindless pub stomping. The scout gained a viable alternative to his primary weapon in both public and competitive play. The demoman got nothing a decent player would want. (shield is nice yes, but to trade a potential 800dmg splash weapon, with the ability to trap, juggle and jump is not an option imo)

TLDR: Scout update sucked but got an (even more) game-breaking weapon. Demo update sucked more.

You're right on both, but I already cried about the recent class update more than enough. I'm ingame, trying the sandman and the FAN, Cheez will love this (if it's any good).

Just need to remember one thing in regards to unlocks, I think TF2 is the first valve game designed at casual pubbing. Always need to take that into account, i'd estimate 95% of TF2 players have never taken part in a 6v6. Call it selling out, but imo it always has been and will be a game designed for more casual play.

 Not saying it shouldn't have a competitive edge ofc, everything should. Imo, Highlander's should be the game of choice over 6v6's, would make for a much more interesting aspect to the game, rather than the same 6v6 setup every time.

Nah, 9v9 is too chaotic for me. 6v6, you can switch around quite a lot - the only exemption being granlands on which 95% of the time, its the normal rollout. Zerox indeed, but individuals don't win, the team does - while they might not be the best scouts individually, and if put in another team they would do worse than e.g Zerox in another team, in Diggy, with all the other players, they make the best scout pair, just because they've won it all.
edit1: and totally not related to the topic but not worthy of a post itself, how long is the ban? I got the impression from Junta that it wasn't permanent, but i've no facts
edit2: didnt hear the original first, but this one is annoying, and if this one is then how bad is the original?!

It's more than a hefty nerf, it's taken away the entire playstyle of the damn weapon. Reason why it was so awesome was that you could go from ammo to ammo without dying / taking too much damage. Even if someone was chasing you, after about 3 ammo they either assumed you were now dead / they gave up, leaving you to inflict some sharp love from behind with your disco stick.

 Now the sounds the same, you decloak - entire team turns around and ganks you while you desperately run away waiting for it to refill. I'll admit this would'nt have been such a massive nerf WERE the sound to have actually been reduced / automatic cloak recharge was improved.

As long as they fix the sound, it's still a viable weapon. Also, the chain-undead thing isn't the playstyle for the watch... it's just handy on certain maps. As I've mentioned a billion times elsewhere, while you're undeading around, you're not stabbing people or sapping things. It doesn't help your team just to parade around obviously not being dead

For now, the two normal watches are better in most situations. I still want my ghosting watch!
