Jesus... sounds just like my playthrough. I didn't fill the gauge all the way, but was about 80% paragon and only 15% badass.

Are the endings radically different if it's the other way around? I want to be asshole to people, I really do.

I've got an asshole save for ME1 if you want it, I'm sure I did a hard save just before the final boss so you can probably get the bad ending out that way? Let me know, I'll try and remember where I hosted the file, or failing that, tommeh the fag can give it to you.

No probs mate, the offers there if anyone wants to see the bad ending or use it for ME2 though, all the bad choices, lvl45, 80%ish renegade. Also, my dudes called Fart, thereby making him much better then all of you.

Mine is called claws, there's a point in the game where somebody says 'claws' and I got all excited thinking 'wow, they recorded a load of names and everything'. Then I realised I'd been duped and I got sad

The bastard options in Mass Effect are usually so much more amusing. For example the ''incident'' with the bartender on Omega. I received free drinks from then on.

Bastard options in Bioware games in my experience are generally more amusing, maybe that says more about me then the games but meh.

Also, something I didn't quite understand about the bartender episode [spoilerz]I might've missed the explanation, but why did the bartender die after drinking that shit but Shepard didn't?[/spoilerz]

No, I wouldn't have thought so.

BUUUUUUUUUUT...

The first time I played ME1 I didn't get past the first mission and seriously, once you get off the Citadel (2/3 hours in) it picks up a fair bit and lets you bugger about doing whatever the hell you like being a space cop basically. Worth the initial slog for the end gain.

I personally found the time spent on citadel or generally in any place where there were people to talk to more fun than the "drop your mako, drive here and kill everyone" missions. Wish there were more places like the citadel and feros in the first game.

It's a lot more arcadey and streamlined (in a good way), more fighting and less poncing about. But as Hzzy says.

And what happened to the citadel, it's like they knocked it down!

The fucking mako missions made me want to stamp on puppies, the really are that boring/repetitive. As for my time on the Citadel, the first playthrough it was spent wandering around, not really knowing where I was going and enduring those fucking stupid lift scenes TWICE when I inevitably went the wrong way and had to back track to get where I was supposed to be going. Once you figure it out where everything is though its pretty tolerable. Hardly a highlight though.

Oh God, the Mako...DON'T MAKE ME GO BACK IN THE MAKO! Just because I drive near a wall DOES NOT mean I want to do an anti-gravity 360triplerollbackflipsupreme only to end up facing the wrong direction.

Mass Effect 2 has improved a lot in comparison to the first game (which I liked anyway), though I doubt people who hated the first one would like this one.

I think your squad drags you out of the bar, where some random guy gives you an antidote for no apparent reason. Either way I enjoyed watching that obnoxious douchebag choke on his own lungs, not that I'm sadistic or anything.
