Could always start a new game though, especially with all the changes, if anyone was interested! (now I know how to play it can be played relatively fast).

I've picked up the other expansions I didn't have (although one is in beta), can't beat that price.

Also, we want to carry on our game sometime chaps? or perhaps we can get another (smaller) game going?

Arcen have just released ANOTHER expansion, the prettily named Light of the Spire. Basically, 180 new ships (BECAUSE IT NEEDED ANY MORE), more music, more AI cleverness, etc, plus a new game mode that can apparently be measured in minutes rather than hours.

This means it's time for my monthly lusting to play AI War. Instead of my usual 'Guys we should totally get a game going again at some point' tactic, I'm going to suggest that those interested in some campaigning set a time in the week when we reckon we'll be available and work around that- if someone can't make it one time then no worries, and there's no reason a more dedicated group can't have a smaller game going in the mean time. For me, this would have to be during the week (preferably Wednesday evenings/nights), but if weekends are easier for most then I'll arrange a splinter group. Any takers?

Unfortunately the game didn't click with me. Really like what they are doing as a game developer, but my brain got overloaded somewhere in the middle of the tutorial.

Yeah, I'll play as I said before; no problem with most Wednesdays and Thursdays and Sundays are a good one. Got a mumble server and can host it if needed.

I also like the look of the new expansion, some "much easier to use" things and some updates to the engine; as we know from the other expansions the actual new ships don't all need to be used, and most are special case rather then general-purpose (ie; you'd get a choice of them at the start depending on the planet you choose but the others are mostly locked out).

Plots especially sound fun. Also as long as we're a bit more determined rather then passive it could be a much easier game (now we know what we're doing). Defender mode could also last a very short time...

The main game and the first two expansions are here, here, and here for a grand total of about £8. NO ONE HAS AN EXCUSE NOT TO BUY IT ANY MORE.

Also, ignore the tutorial once it's done explaining camera and movement- it takes 2 hours to explain what can be calmly shouted over mumble in 15 minutes.
