Well said Sam. The soul of a car is experienced through driving not by designation or name. And anyone who thinks a Clio is something to rave about in the 'Soul' line has been sadly mislead.

Surly some cars have more soul or personality than others. I know me & Papa have discussed this befor. I once had an old 1979 Britsh Layland Mini and still miss the fact that other Mini drives would flash and wave at you as you drove along. Fade had the same thing with the VW Corado (not sure of spelling]. And I'm sure there are others. But you don't see Mondeo drivers waving at each other do you? Some cars are practical transport. Others are great fun Arieal Atom = FUN! Astra estate "Life" = practical transport but dull.

I agree with the car "soul" thing, I have had some truly awful cars (an Austin Allegro comes to mind) that have had character and a couple of cars I have owned that I have disliked merely because they were boring

Yup, love that shape. That was the first car I sold when I worked for a Mazda dealership. Really comfortable. Well built, so even for £350 it'll server u well for a spell.

Parents got an MX-5 last year, lovely car but they won't put me on the insurance so i'm stuck with my 1.1 litre 206 I believe that the mazdas with Wankel engines are the RX range, the 'R' presumably standing for Rotary (which is the wankel engine principle)

Just starting to notice things that justify the price, air con buggered, electric aeriel seriously buggered (no stereo till I find a way of turning it off or removing it) and it looks like the thermostat is buggered so it overheats if I drive it more than 3 miles. Oh it needs 2 new tyres too.

And they are brilliant fun!!!! you HAVE to persuade ur folks to put you on insurance!!! To All: mazdas are not wank, they are one of the best reliant motors around, as with nearly all japanese cars (unless you were thinking wankel which others have correctly stated is the rotary engine) And yes cars definately have 'a soul'. I haven't driven many cars but the one with most soul was a 1.3 mini mayfair... brill fun and everyone loves you in it, especially other mini owners Current car is more of an 'angry bastard' variety so a different soul altogther, but immense fun (as papa said forgetting the badge lol)
