I've had my PS3 for nearly a year and the only games I've played that I actually thought were half decent were Resi5 (sue me, ima fanboy) and FIFA09. There's less and less console exclusives these days, might as well stick with what you've got and buy a bluray player.

too damn addictive, get 2 PS3s together and a couple HD tvs and you have the best way to play that game imo

Well there are plenty of good games out there, they just aren't all exclusive (and seriously, this exclusive stuff is just bullshit in general, there is no reason any current gen couldn't handle a specific game, it's just marketing hype for a specific platform). Then there is bluray, DVD upscaling (quite good, too), streaming capability (I use my PS3 to stream TV shows from my NAS to my HDTV) and some minor less improtant stuff like browsing and communicating, which a standalone bluray player doesn't offer. The stand alone bluray players are cheaper these days, though.

I won't be buying the slim version, but I sure as hell don't regret buying the old 80GB version (with easily upgradable HDD as well).

Plus: Guitar Hero/Rock Band and similar stuff is about the most fun I've ever had in multiplayer gaming (local multiplayer that is). Worth it for those type of games alone if you ask me (obv. not exclusive titles).

Those games aren't about showing that you are a talented musician with real instruments, it's about pushing some plastic buttons to some random patterns coming towards you really fast, but if you're going to argue about that, you completely missed the point of those games (and a lot of fun, too). Besides I'm more of the drumming/singing kind of guy.

I have GH, GH:Rt80s, GH2 and 2 copies of GH3 and every time I play them, all I can think is I'd rather play an actual guitar.. so I do.. and my guitars see more daylight in 1 day than my GH guitars do in a lifetime now... I'm not saying its a bad game.. its just boring
I did like the Guitar Queero ep of south park though.. heroin hero looks like a hard game

Apparently everyone is still missing the point. People playing those games aren't wannabe musicians. They are video gamers (hence playing VIDEO GAMES and not MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS) who enjoy rocking out to their favorite music. You know what an air guitar is? Anyhow, the "go play an actual guitar, because I can"-remark is as old as Guitar Hero 1, why would I expect any difference now.

To be honest, I never liked the GH franchise much, it's only with RB where you could also drum and sing that I got interested in that kind of games (SingStar never got much of the music that I like). Yeah yeah, I know, I should buy me a real drumkit and sound isolate my living room and get singing lessons and get signed with a label or something. It's like saying to someone who enjoys playing Uplink "You're a fag! I can hack for real, why don't you do yourself a favor and do the same?". It's a fricking video game, man.
