Just moved into my new house for second year of uni and dont like the desk surface, so as I usually play on the bare desk I was wondering what is the best gaming mat for a non-ridiculous price for a razer mouse (if that matters).

This is the one I won at i37. Just like you, I used to play on a bare desk, as soon as I got it, I immediately noticed a difference compared to using the cheap mouse mats I also got at i37 (playing bare of the desks there was impossible). I also tried playing bare since I got back, to compare the two, and I can't believe I used to play on it. The mat makes gameplay much smoother, and more responsive. And it's at a fairly decent price IMO (and I reckon you could find it cheaper if you look around)

+1 on what Deadly said.. Although the cheaper razer mats are good too

This one looks like a winner to me
Although a thin mat wont be as good as a thicker one like the Destructor.. itll slip easier and wont let the mouse slide as well.. but tracking should still be top notch

I use the Razer Goliathus, it's the cheapest Razer mat, and I have to say, it's top notch. I have no problems with it (it's a little small, but I did go for the smallest, still the size of a normal mouse mat).

For the scrim vs NUB last night I used a book (The Leu Familys Family Iron) 13 x 11 inches coz I'm always running out of pad when trying to move around and I end up getting stuck Smiley

Sorry for the necro, but I'm in the market for a new mousemat and wanted some more opinions. What did you think of the destructor Cheez, I'm tied between that and the exact mat. Also, how big is it, I don't have a massive ammount of space on my desk atm Sad.

Really glad i bought the destructor, it never slips and gives you great control. As for size, in my opinion, its just right. Its not ridiculously big but big enough to never run out of space unless you have a really really low sens. Its 350 X 280 mm, so just a big longer than a 30cm ruler.
To sum up, its well worth the money and it comes with a cool case Smiley
