This game actually makes PhysX effects worth turning on... the cape, oh the cape... *drool*

So from an Nvidia person standpoint, they must have at least worked with them a bit to make it run better on Nvidia cards (mine is aging, but plays it fantastically)
Disabling AA is a bit much though, I'm sure you could be smart and force it on as a program rule though

Yep - my thoughts exactly. Not having AA is a bit like having a car without power steering these days... often comes as standard.

Bought yesterday and have spent 4hrs trying to get working, It crashes after the intro walk scene apparantly this is something to do with GFWL, but if I don't use a profile I can't save.

I don't mind if GFWL is in a game but its not exactly endering me to it when I can only play the game on a single playthrough.

This fault is quite common apparrantly and not patched yet grrr!

and yet if you got the game or crack it illegally it would probably work for you. something's not right

Yeah I had a similar problem with Fallout 3 and it only started to work when I got the illegal GFWL removal patch. And it turned out, you don't even need GFWL to run the games (including saving), you only need it to buy DLC (which you can also buy retail and on steam).

If it's the same with batman, then the only difference with saving, is that the files are being put in the wrong place. If you copy them over after playing you still have your saves and can load them. I don't know anything about the GFWL implementation in Batman, though - that's just how it works with Fallout 3.

GFWL is just rubbish, always was.

you're saying that GFWL isn't needed to save in F3? what about that message that pops up telling you any saved progress will be lost unless you login or something to that effect?

oh and personally i've not had a single problem with GFWL and so i don't hate it like everyone else does, guess i'm just lucky!

Yeah, at least with Fallout 3 all GFWL does is creating another folder in the game folder (or in settings and applications, don't remember) and saves the game in your respective folder (it's called the same your account name is called). If you don't use it, the game is still saved, but not in the right folder, so GFWL doesn't know where to look (probably on purpose) so it acts as if you never saved.

That patch completely removes GFWL from the game (even the button in the main menu) and the game just doesn't care...

I got it working, I had to remove and reinstall gfwl seperate from baa. I actually don't mind gfwl, the clock is great that should be
in steam.
I thought the game was great, stealth bits were best. Was dissapointed by final boss fight though. I wanted to fight the joker not another 5 waves of normal baddies.

I'm still nowhere near the final boss, the game is massive. I'm only about 25% through and Iév had it for weeks. Wish there were a few more save checkpoints sometimes.

The real reason for his lack of progress is this:

Mark has been jumping and prancing round his house dressed in his underpants (with a tea towel for a cape and a hand drawn felt tip pen mask). He has also been making his own "ker-pow" sound effects too.....

I categorically deny this. Firstly I don't wear underpants while prancing, and secondly Batman offers far more exciting clothing possiblities than a pretend cape. Pictures to the usual address?
