yep im hooked on borderlands now.

does anyone else play this or is it just me. Ive just opened the vault so going on some of the side missions now since all the primary ones seem to be done. Only up to level 36 atm which is a lot further than the people ive been playing it with. bad for me and good for them as i rape everything and they get loads of xp while just hiding in a corner and i get like 1xp per kill.

I did about 200 hours of it when it came out so only really go back to it when they release new DLC .

I think I might have a dude around that level though, I'll check when I get back home.

sweet sounds good. mumble madness shall happen. should be a new free and paid dlc in the next month or 2 also. Need someone to show me the ropes as far as the dlc's go as ive just done the main game for now and pretty much ignored every side mission. not even sure how to get on to the dlc's tbh.

The new locations apear on the warp-sticks and they take you straight there pretty much...

I'd leave Knoxx until you hit level 50 as that shit is really really hard if you're underleveled, but Zombie Island is a reet good laugh. Moxxi is ok if you get a group of 4 together but you get no experience or lewt from it; just you can get 1 extra skill point per playthrough (2 in total). Plus, each area takes like an hour or so and gets quite repetative...

ah k ill leave knoxx until i get to 50 then and just crack on with the others until i get to that point. guessing now the main missions are done now leveling will be slow. or is their a way to level up faster? do wep levels go above 35 as thats the highest level i have found for them. Ive been playing it as a solider.

Once you beat the final boss, I'd finish up all your sidequests and start another playthrough; its the quickest way to level to be honest. I think you can get up to 50 on the first playthrough but, tbh, there isn't much point, I think if you're around 36 when you finish pt1 then you'll hit 50 around New Haven in pt2...Also, if you've got Knoxx installed I think the level cap increases in the main game to 61 as well.
Lewt goes up to either level 49 or 51 (can't remember off the top of my head) on playthrough 2 in the main story and up to 61 in Knoxx so theres loads more cool shit waiting for you .

the final boss is the beast at the vault i guess? So now ive killed that i should just finish off all the missions i currently have listed and not take on any more. then go for playthrough 2? I have all the dlc's so should be able to get to level 61 and then 69 when the new dlc gets released soon. Sorry just making sure im on the right lines. and fk me i leveled up fast pwning those alien things near the end. Shotty ftw

Yeah, the final boss is the vagina-faced cave monster thing. I'd go out of my way to find all the missions and finish them off, every little helps exp wise, then start a new playthrough.

and fk me i leveled up fast pwning those alien things near the end. Shotty ftw

Yeah, thats a great place to grind weapon proficencies, you get a stupid ammount of exp for killing those bastards!

did a load of missions last night, but then ended up in one of the dlc's i thought it was mad moxxi's as i had to meet her. but from watching all the trailers it seems like im on knoxx and considering he has spoken on the radio thingy and ive had big ass dreadnaughts coming at me i guess im in the wrong dlc. still it got me levelling up faster again. doing the side missions i was getting f-all points. like 1xp per kill and maybe 4k for a completed mission. not sure what to do. this as all still on playthrough one.

Didn't actually consider that...You'll probably do alright in Knoxx on pt1 then. Do it, its a good laugh and it'll give you an idea of what to expect on pt2 (ie more of the same, but harder...). Only problem could be that you overlevel and end up raping your way through pt2...Game is so delicatly balanced even if you go 5 levels over where you're supposed to be and have half decent gear you just destroy everything.

I meant to mention earlier, stuff you should be keeping (orange gun wise) is Hellfire SMG, Volcano sniper rifles, Crux shotguns (the acid ones, not the explosiver ones) and Defiler revolvers are all insane for proc damage and are relativly common. Also, Hunter shotguns can be good for sniping (srsly) and Bulldogs are great for CC if you get one with a half decent rate of fire (1.2+) but generally the purple shotguns are more usefull then the oranges. Oranges are generally just lulz, purple are always much better generally. Depending on your build the Torgue orange machine gun (can't remember what they're called) are pretty good for DPS, but machine guns in general aren't very good unless you're spraying and praying. And keep any orange Hyperions you get, I collect them .

I'm sure theres more but I can't recall off the top of my head...I won't be about tonight, but will defo be about on Friday for a bit of a sesh, drop me a message on Steam or summit.

Also, bit of news here regarding the upcoming patch (+8 levels [58 max in vanilla, 69 if you have Knoxx DLC] and scaling of pre-dlc stuff to the new, higher level) as well as the new DLC out on the 28th Sept (ie, payday ).
