Hey guys,

I'm currently, and have been for a while, looking for someplace that offers one of those "exciting shooting experiences" blah blah blah basically go to some shooting range fire some guns BOOYAA YIPPEE !!! etc

Only difference is i wanna find someplace that offers the ability to vintage fire weapons circa 1940s i.e. WW2 weapons. Something i've wanted to do for a very long while.

Now i remember a while ago hearing of such things in europe but never investigated further (think it may have been in Norway or something)

something with all the classics : k98, garand, lee enfield, lugers etc

though if anyone can find something that includes even just a burst on an MG42 i will love you for ever.

Like i said i have a strong feeling this exists somewhere in europe, just having trouble finding it.

Simply put cos i haven't found anything worth while yet.....also poor, so so poor. will be a saving project to look forward to.

The advantage of Poland is that several of my Polish friends have invited me over so would have somewhere to stay.

One even suggested we do some crazy 2 week kayak trip through the woods with tents and shit, on the way stopping to watch some epic annual medieval battle re-enactment . I said as long as it doesn't end like "deliverance" it's all good. he looked at me blankly

You'll be hard pressed to find somewhere that will let you loose on a Spandau (MG42). They're serious kit and a rate of fire close to many modern machine guns (American M60 is based on the design! lol).

Good luck matey! Sounds awesome! I know when we were in Thailand there were ranges where you could fire a variety of weapons but I doubt that it had any vintage weapons.

I must admit though: it is a *lot* of fun getting to play with real guns that you have played with in a game. Personally I've fired the AWP and M249 from counter strike, and the LSW & SA80 (in BF2) and it's a lot of fun! Also done some clay pigeon shooting which was pretty fun. I've fired a Lee Enfield (pretty sure it was an enfield) - a .22 conversion of one anyway.

I would definitely love to pick up some more WW2 weapons though. Especially the Garand, Thompson and BAR are my top 3. Especially now my WW2 love has been re-kindled having re-watched Band of Brothers. Might have to dig out some WW2 games now

I did all my weapons firing through CCF (cadets with school) and OTC at university.

One of my mates went on a stag do in Latvia and fired AK-47's and shotguns, but that isn't really what you're looking for I guess? Still, firearms is firearms!

Oh - and as for Poznan. We flew there last year for a cheap post-exam holiday. I wish I'd known that was there or I definitely would have given it a go!

There isn't much to do in Poznan - we found a few nice bars and stuff - I wouldn't go for more than 2-3 days though. We got cheap flights with Wizz-air. We got a tour round the Lech brewery which was good and definitely do not recommend the Poznan old zoo

He does those reinactments you see sometimes

He doesnt have much live ammo, be when he can get hold of some, we all chip in and a farmer lets us do it in his field (providing we dont shoot any of his stock)

Lt Mama and I went to a little Display in Basingstoke where they fired a some sort of howitzer i think it was. Mama and i were stood directly perpendicular to the muzzle brake. When that thing went off all of your clothes were nearly ripped off. Seem to remember mama got a surprisingly good photo on his phone.

I also know of a group that are doing some STUG and Sherman training sometime soon, driving, loading and blank firing the guns, radio controls etc. Only prob is you need to have all the re-enactment kit to join in, i.e. can't turn up in your civvies, And all that stuff aint cheap.
