It's a good laugh for the money you pay, but don't expect to get much life out of it is all I'd say. I like it alot, but yeah, each to their own I guess!

I quite like it actually. I've yet to play with a decent team who don't have the usual "OMG MUST WELD EVERY DOOR" or "lets hide in this farmhouse and wait for 150 zombies to start knocking" but nevermind....

I decided to preorder it, possibly due to Hzza's countdown in the server if I remember correctly...

...Anyway, so far it seems O.K. Definately a game to be played with a good team or friends though.

So after during our games tonight, we were playing with a chap who seemed to know the "ins-and-outs" of dealing with particualr specimens (mainly Flesh Pounders and the Patriarch), so I figured there might be some guides on the internet somewhere that could give some hints & tips.

But I can't find anything it saddens me. Cos atm, it seems almost impossible to kill the Patriarch on normal.

a lot of ppl on the tripwire forum said that the team has to go support-perk and buy hunting shotgun in final.

And they said the rocket-launcher is totally useless

Rocket launcher seems to do enough damage if he only heals his original health amount.

The way I see it is, with a good commando who can see him stealthed, you can catch the last of his health before he uses his healing ability (yeah, he just injects himself and it only takes a second or so though). Or use flames to see where he goes to.

Hunting shotguns are good though, ya. Might be a better bet Shame most of the teams I've been on have had at least two beskers whenever I've got to the last round, which are a little useless against him.

In the few times I've fought him, it seems to me that the flamethrower is quite effective (of course I'm a tad biased whenever flames are involved in anything). It causes a steady stream of damage to him and as Finaldeath said, allows you to see where he's going a lot of the time.

1 guy of our squad was left. very close for me (died 1 sec before the final shot)

Killed one on a custom map, hooray! I think we went through all his healing stages. I died, but heroically did get most of my LAW shots off.

If you want to catch it and not let it heal (and build up allies) you need a commando (who can see stealthed people) or fire (yay burning! adds damage too) to follow it, and beserkers, except good ones, really do die quick since they do so little damage and get knocked back/can't hold the enemy using the chainsaw

I know how to beat it mainly though - having allies who know when to dodge fire, and others who can actually aim. Surprisingly difficult to find those.

It can have less players and it alters the difficulty though, so I wonder if it might be fun doing a 2 or 3 man team against the guy

Killed 2 today (one with mama).

The hunting shotgun is TOTALLY AWESOME for this guy. (or for the "chainsaw-dude" or Flesh Pounders)

Get near the Patriarch, secondary fire at his head and run away to reload.
If the other teammates shot at him simultaneously he is going down really fast.


Now I am lvl 3 on support class.

Aye, was about to say about this.
Fortunately, we had a decent field medic as well (IMO, team should always have at least one). But yea, had read that hunting shotgun was best for him, so both me and Ringel were rocking these as support specialists for him. The fight went on for a fair old while, and I think we only lost one guy.

LAW imo is just pretty shitty. I think the best strategy is 1 field medic, maybe 1 commando/flamethrower, and the rest hunting shotguns.
