depends how the invisibility is caused. if it's by bending light around him, then he see's absolutely nothing. if it's by clever camouflaging then he sees perfectly well.

If it's invisibility by being perfectly transparent, he obviously sees nothing in the classical sense, since that would require some sort of absorption of photons in his eyes, which in turn would make his retina visible. Although he might have some other way of percieving light radiation, like, *ahem* sensing disturbances in the quantum state of his cells by light passing through him... Although I'm not entirely sure on the technicalities of the signal amplification.

Several (non-scientific) explanations for this one.
a) Because of the existance of a rather elusive kind of particle that is also out of phase and strangely manifests itself out of thin nothing (quantum foam or however you call the boiling subatomic mess) whenever you try to walk on it. Those have been dubbed Floorons. (ba-dum tsch)
b) Because reality is all about perception, (as we've learned from H2G2) the knack to walking on the ground when out of phase is simply failing to fall through it. I must differ with you on this point.

"Zombieism" is caused by a virus called Solanum (it's real i tells ya!) and as such, virus's have no need for nutrition. They are simply a strain of DNA/RNA that enters a host cell and uses that cells nutrients to replicates it's genetic material which will then go onto infect other cells. A virus has no "concern" as to making sure the host cell has enough nutrients to maintain it's replication indefinitely, it replicates till the host cell's nutrients are exhauted thus the cell dies (generally).

So the food ingested holds no meaning, it's just a primal instinct of the zombies, but is not necessary for anything. Anything eaten just sits in the stomach etc. and rots. I also would draw your attention to "Day of the Dead" where Dr "Frankenstein" shows that even when all of a zombies internal organs are removed, the zombie remains able to function and still has the instinct to feed. POW!

To elaborate on the spaceship question (which I phrased very general):
If spaceships were able to travel with speeds of even a fraction of lightspeed they would be way to fast to have any normal kind of combat. So basically it would be very common for ships to battle each other over huge distances (unless they'd decide to slow down).
Of course with weapons working at lightspeed (e.g. lasers) that wouldn't be a problem. Projectile-based weapons or particle-weapons this would require computerized targeting system to determine where to shot to  hit an object 100000 miles away traveling with 2000 miles/sec with a given vector. That should be rather easy if you are able to retrieve these informations (which again could probably be done with lasers).
Next question is how manoeuvrable spaceships would be (which, I think, would boil down to the question how fast they can accelerate/deccelerate since you don't steer in space but you change your vector of movement ... something which almost no Sci-Fi-film or series adresses correctly).
So if your engines are strong enough to change your course in a very short time it would be much harder to hit such a ship with weapons with lower speed since it could easily evade the shot. That again would mean that ships would like wait as long as possible to shoot at each other, which again on high speed would mean that this (assuming the approach from different directions) would happen over the very short period of time (1-2 seconds?).

Of course ...  Grin if ships very able to accelerate/deccelerate in a few seconds this would change the whole handling of a battle since ships could basically crisscross or even reverse directions. If one ship would follow another the first ship only would habe to "brake" to be tens of thousands of miles away in a fews seconds (again, computerized controls should be able to adapt to that).

I'm sure a lot of Sci-Fi-Writers will have tried to deal with such questions on more variety than filmmakers, which usually only compose either seabattles or airfights in space (Not to mention that almost no movie tries to perceive space as truly 3-dimensional ... it's usually with a clear up/down orientation like an airfight or an underwater fight would be).
