- What does the invisible man see?
If it's invisibility by being perfectly transparent, he obviously sees nothing in the classical sense, since that would require some sort of absorption of photons in his eyes, which in turn would make his retina visible. Although he might have some other way of percieving light radiation, like, *ahem* sensing disturbances in the quantum state of his cells by light passing through him... Although I'm not entirely sure on the technicalities of the signal amplification.
- What does the man 'out-of-phase' stand [on]?
Several (non-scientific) explanations for this one.
a) Because of the existance of a rather elusive kind of particle that is also out of phase and strangely manifests itself out of thin nothing (quantum foam or however you call the boiling subatomic mess) whenever you try to walk on it. Those have been dubbed Floorons. (ba-dum tsch)
b) Because reality is all about perception, (as we've learned from H2G2) the knack to walking on the ground when out of phase is simply failing to fall through it. It actually does come quite natural to out-of-phaseists, but the moment they start to think too hard about it, Gravity will start to notice and slam ist fist down hard on them, what are they thinking, people these days...
- How does the man who stops time move?
Simple, just like the Warp drive. He thaws frozen time in front of him and freezes it back behind him.
- How does the shrinking man breathe? (or eat or drink, for that matter)
This starts to get interesting when we reach atomic levels of shrinkyness. (Before that it's mostly trivial, think Bacteria...).
Hmm... Come to think about it, that's not so easy. I'll think about it a bit and report back. Interesting Problem though...
- Fine that zombies eat. But where does the stuff go?
Into their rotten stomachs and innards. As is common knowledge Zombieism is a disease (why do you think they're called "the infected"). It's thus obviously caused by bacteria which enter a symbiotic relationship to the host body, and keep it from completely disintegrating by absorbing the stuff zombies eat. They obviously can extract the best material from Braaaains, hence the Zombies' hunger for it.
- How do ships fight in space?
Very quietly.
(THANK YOU!!!! for this interesting topic)
