Sweet Jesus, have been competing with Chaos all night for the top spot in casual, I've finally retaken the lead however, which puts me 8th in the world, and 5th in the UK, the highest mono score of anyone (yes, feel my ego swell). Though Jordan, QUIT NIPPING AT MY HEELS!

Full marks for determination- getting on the global high scores on a radio song is generally bloody impressive. Even if it takes you until half 5 in the morning.

Well, the new songs are out, which conludes week one of the Official WDG AudioSurf Competition 2008 (tm).

The final standings can be admired in this finely crafted screenshot by yours truly:

Basically, there are a whole load of tags that can be added to files to make things a bit more interesting:

This allows you to upload your mp3 files, add the tags for custom game modes (if required) and provide you with a link to download the file which you can then paste in here to download & then audio-surf away!

For some reason the files won't open in windows media player after the edit, but the ones i tested it on worked fine in audiosurf.

I spent the afternoon on it so it's probably full of holes and might not work (especially for large file sizes due to upload limits)

I thought this would be a good idea as if someone uploads a file for the competition, we can all download it and work from the same file - and we will all be using the right custom game mode tags if we decide to use them!

Good stuff! You definitely get first choice for that (your coming last also gives you that right). Give us a link here and we can get started- maybe stick with vanilla audiosurf for now, so we can move onto tags once the newer users among us have mastered the pro level characters a bit. Since we're doing pro this week. Oh yes.

If anybody cares, we can revive the oh-so-successful radio band Livingston, since they are pretty much giving their songs (in 128kbps versions) away on their homepage through the background music player.
I have them and can upload them if anybody's interested...

I had a good mess with the uploader and ended up with this which you have to right click and save to download, which ranks as one of the more terrifying experiences I've had in a game. First person camera, 2 block minimum match and caterpillars of blocks. Best of all: it corkscrews, which actually made me coo at the screen.
